Your idea sounds good, but I'm a little confused about the forcing part. Are you changing their card into something else, or something else into their card? Because the latter is infinitely more astonishing.

Try doing odd moves, like coin moves with cards, and something will pop into your head. Dunno how but it does. For example, I've starting sleeving cards. Not sure why, but I purpose will pop up sometime.

I'm hoping this is still on topic, so I'm just gonna briefly explain why that's a bad thing. If your audience sees you do a questionable motion such as the one mentioned above, they will do exactly as you stated, and simply blame it on skill. If you're trying to astonish your spectators...
