    Halloween Show...Suggestions...

Setting wise I'm thinking the dry ice or fog would go over well. Lit candles throughout the area as lighting. Music playing in the background preshow to set the mood. For example "Halloween Theme Music - Michael Myers type" or similar tracks. You could do some type of signed card to inside a...

Magic in silence for the deaf

Very interesting topic / opportunity. It makes me think that I would almost want to perform the routine as a mime with tons of facial expression and very visual magic. Please share how it goes and your thoughts.

Complete beginner - where to start?

As Zac mentioned, I too first started out with How to do Street Magic from ellusionist many years ago, but then learned the value of books such as Mark Wilson's Complete Course in Magic and Royal Road which both have already been mentioned. These are outstanding resources and please do not...

    Part of theory11 team?

Ha Ha. Well...there is a 2 week hazing period in which you will undergo extreme conditions both mentally and physically. I had to tie 100 Loops in 10 minutes, make slush powder from scratch, recite quotations from Expert at the card Table, eat a thumb tip with a silk inside, make a diorama out...

    Coming soon.

Hey Guys, I completely understand the excitement as members are posting potential Wire effects. Please remain professional even if you dislike something. Sometimes it is hard to get the "humor" or sarcasm in a typed message so keep that in mind as well. The other thing I want to address is there...

    We All Lie

Zac, no offense man. I'm not taking shots at you or anyone else. I also live in an area that is low income. Our school has free lunches for 65 percent of our student population. I guess whatever works for you is fine and by all means keep doing it and performing. I guess at some point you may...

    We All Lie

Hey guys, sorry I have been so slammed at work and just got back from a gig. I'm just going to cut straight to the point and tell you what experience I have and what I charge / make. I have 11 years of magic experience under my belt but ONLY 2 years performing at paid gigs. I charge $125.00...

No tricks up on The Wire?

Why wouldn't JB wake up that early? Anyone who is out of college and holds a career needs to get up and get moving. You don't get paychecks for sleeping in and checking your mail...ha ha.

Draven Reviews: Pure Smoke by Ellusionist

Excellent review Draven. I'll probably wait until I hear from other workers and if they make some adjustments to keep cartridges on.

    Website

I'm not knocking the logo at all, it looks good, there just isn't a need for a splash page. Can you guys utilize the logo else where within the site or are is there a template not allowing that?

    Website

Wow..well on your way to a decent site man. I'm going to echo the above posters statements in that you need to lose the splash page even if you think it adds something or looks cool, lose the counter, space out your links just a tad more, add more photos when you have time and a few videos...

    Children are Cruel

My students get to see a new magic trick EVERY Friday when they behave and all the homework was handed in. As far as practice material, I do that when I in walking the halls or on the playground doing recess duty at times. Sometimes there are kids who show up early to school or are waiting on...

    Children are Cruel

Hey Chris, by no means am I talking about doing a complicated patter routine that is over the children's heads. Sorry about the confusion. What Dai Vernon was saying was perfecting the sleight or move in front of a group of children is great practice because they are way more suspect to catch...

    Children are Cruel

Now that I have your attention...ha ha. I'm reading and enjoying "The Magician and the Cardsharp". On page 142 it makes note that Allen Kennedy and Dai Vernon always had practice sessions in which they recruited children as observers to monitor their progress. "Children were cruel...

    Draven Reflects upon the Wire.

Shin, don't quote me on an exact price but I know for sure of two gentlemen who have price tags (one above and one below) $4,000 with Paper Crane. I never said that was just the filming. I'm talking everything total. The man / woman hours in filming, editing, cutting. I'm talking about the art...
