    Ostrich Syndrome In Magic

It is well known that ostriches dig their head in the sand when they don't want for somebody to see them. They are thinking "If I don't see them, they won't see me either." And vice versa "If I can see something, others will see it too"... There is this fear when you do snap change, tenkai...

Tally's or Bikes? The Final Showdown...

Haha, yeah, I guess you are right... But we can at least try. Or we can ignore "pointless" threads, and let those threads go into the realm of Forgotten. You mean like the system in the media section? Yeah, that would be useful... There is nothing wrong with that type of cliche's. I know...

Tally's or Bikes? The Final Showdown...

Kevin, if you want a thread that will improve art of magic, maybe you should make one of your own, or at least comment on one of those threads, and not on this one... I started couple of threads about presentation and such, and got like 5 responses, maybe you should dig one up and comment...

To TA owners - LVL2 better than original?

Doug, did you encounter a situation when they put the cards in their pocket "the wrong way"? Edited by Sinful for slight exposure. I'll post a response answering your question though. And did anybody, when they took all 13 cards form their pocket, put the hand back in immediately to see if there...

To TA owners - LVL2 better than original?

For cards in box motivation, just act if the trick really is going in that direction, as if you need to put them in the box aka. the casual manner that someone above said. And just say this: "Oh, I forgot to let you count the cards, that is only fair... Ten cards? Ok. Lets just put them back...

    Cruise Ship Magician

I have a question on two epic products.

Well, yeah, that is definitely a way to go... But between the two that he mentioned, I would go with David Stone... IF he doesn't want card tricks...

I have a question on two epic products.

80% of the effects on TA is with cards. So I would go with David Stone, because there are more coin tricks there...

What is magic? The threshold between trickery and artistry.

Maybe we are steering away from original point of this thread, but you are right. I will still use "scientific" approach and presentation, and if someone calls it magic, than that's even better; instead of doing "Wizard" presentation and then hope that people will believe I did real magic...

What is magic? The threshold between trickery and artistry.

I was going to open a thread about that, but I can just continue here... What you just described was a "scientific presentation/explanation" of an effect, not magical. And I totally support scientific types of presentation, they are more "logical" and believable. This thread goes neck to...

What is magic? The threshold between trickery and artistry.

Sure, in the right circumstances and with right audience (like I said), anything is possible. We are on the same page there. I was referring to the audiences in restaurants or pizza places, because I think that OP is talking about those kind of audience and setting...

What is magic? The threshold between trickery and artistry.

My not so good English will probably destroy the point I'm trying to make, but here it goes... People are not stupid. They know it's some kind of a trick. They don't know "how?", but they know that it was some kind of a trick. So I wouldn't be so offended if someone called it a trick, instead...

    Really smooth pass

Yep, it's just a classic pass done really really fast and smooth. He even sells a DVD + weights which builds your hand and finger muscles. They are a 5 (some kind of metal) plates that have dimensions like a deck of cards... Oh, and the one where he leaves a card face up, that is a top card...
