I agree with everything David said. Looked like a tiny variation of Mercury Aces to me, which is all it was. Mercury 1.01? ~The Emogician~

Looks like some sort of pass to me, although I could be wrong. Also, the effect is similar to Hedberg's Peak by Dan and Dave (which can be found in the 1on1 section and in their Sleightly Magical PDF).

This is one of the changes that'll be taught on the Change DVD, along with 5 or 6 others (including Change).

Not quite - it utilises the same sleights as another trick, just applied slightly differently. But it's a basic sleight that isn't exclusive to one trick. It's hard to explain without revealing.

Yeah, when he described it to me, a certain method came to mind - and I asked him if it was correct. Unfortunately it was. (I say unfortunately because I think it's a horrible method - another, well-known trick uses the exact same method, but I won't name it for obvious reasons.)

Yeah, me too :) Sounds like a pretty cool trick - anything completely impromptu is a golden trick in my eyes - there aren't many good, solid impromptu effects around.
