Thank you for all the cool advices you guys gave me, I definitely appreciate the amount of specifity in them, although I now realized I didn't said a lot of details in my question.
The thing is, I was mostly a card-based guy up untill now, so creating routines with some other objects requires...
I'm working on move that changes one small object into another, much like Garcia's finish on "Greed".
After the change i transfer an object into the other hand, but a lot of people still wants to see the hand in which the change occured instantly after the transfer, and that just doesn't give...
There are some very nice moves here, good work!
However, you should've turned off the sound of the original video, all that card rustle spoils the atmosphere.
Congratulations on your success! If you don't mind me asking, how old are you?
P.S. I completely agree with you, arrogance is terrible in every aspect of our lives, not only in magic.
This is one of my favorite flourishes to do. You do it pretty good after only 2 weeks of practice. I practiced for about 2 months intensively and I got it pretty smooth by now, so don't worry.
I never really understood the difference between the two. I mean, every flourish can be defined as (extreme) card manipulation and every xcm move can be defined as a flourish.
When people see me flourishing and ask me what's that called I usually reply xcm, but only because the term can be...
Blue Moon - Frank Sinatra
The Lady is a Tramp - Frank Sinatra
Something's Gotta Give - Bing Crosby
Why don't you do right - Peggy Lee
Everyone's got to love these classics.
A performance video would definitely help, but from what I can tell you now:
-the double needs to be aligned perfectly, not "almost perfectly"
-you shouldn't be "careful" when you peel the card off, you should be relaxed and casual
Cheers!
It's a misunderstanding then. I consider deck set-ups and things like the set-up in loaded 2.0 preparations, so that's automatically not impromptu, at least for me. Didn't know about that "with little or no preparation" part of the definition though.
Nice YouTube channel, by thew way.
Cheers!
Not bad, but you're not smooth and because of that the stress is on a huge cover and the fingerwork of your deck hand is still seen. If the mechanics really are like the Orbit control, you should be able to perform it smoothly and naturally, you just need more practice.
If you're still having problems, I would advise you to check out Benjamin Earl's bottom deal that can be found on the second DVD of his After Midnight compilation. The deal is much looser than the one that can be found in Erdnase's book and doesn't have a strange grip that could raise suspicion...
I have the same problem as you and my solution to it (untill i get at least 10kg heavier) is the gambler's cop, which works wonderfully in close-up. As for the tenkai, I use it mainly as a color change in a way that is similar to what you do, but instead of rubbing the deck I just drop the card...
Very visual and original, the only thing I'm not sure about are the color changing bands because the effect looks very angle sensitive and I have a feeling that the clean-up in the performance would be awkward.
