What character do you create for yourself?

I don't know about most of you but I feel very comfortable and confident just being me. I find it difficult to play into a different role especially when there are people present who are around you that know what you are "normally" like. I just tend to use my appearance, witty jokes, charm...

    Jerry's Nuggets from Lee Asher

Maybe I am weird but I can't stand to pay even more than $8.00 for a custom deck let alone something that expensive. I'm not a collector though so maybe some of you are keeping them wrapped, reselling them, or maybe some of you are even going to bust them out for some of your gigs. Either...

    Did I Overkill Watermark?

Draven, I love the sound of your routine. Sometimes that what it takes to push the envelope. I think by the sounds of it you did a great job and it was stunned silence of, "Wow..what did we just witness?" You probably freaked them out a little...ha ha.

Best place to purchase Flash Paper?

Where all are you looking? I believe MJM magic carries it as well as some suppliers on ebay. Are you looking for big sheets or just the small flash pads?

    Wrong Magician... Right Party.

This has happened to me 2 years ago in the following instance. A parent hired me for a "kids" show, however after I got there I soon realized that it was more of a "family" style show where the adults wanted in on the action as well. I always carry extra in my close up case and was able to...

    Alternative to the "Pinky Count"?

The Thumb Count can be done down at your side on an "off beat" but the "Pinky Count" is virtually undetectable. I know a few guys who can Pinky Count up to 5 cards accurately...every time...within two seconds. It is amazing.

    How often do you perform?

I am a full time elementary teacher of 10 years so most of the time I perform on the weekends at private parties, receptions, or a kids show here and there. I'd say right now that I book about two events a month which is fine with me since it is not income that I am depending on. I don't...

How To Get Gigs and Keep Clients: Part 1

Draven, I recall reading every one of your "How to..." threads and they are excellent for beginners and experienced magicians looking to get some great pointers. If I were you I would definitely compile them as a PDF and make them available for a fee. A wealth of knowledge and experience. It...

    The Pass

I also believe that Richard Kaufman has a VHS tape called "On the Pass". I cannot say I have viewed the entire thing but it didn't look too bad.

    Geek Magic Ideas?

Hi Korean, Please check with your school administration on some of the GEEK effects. You may be ok, but I know a few principals who would not allow razor blades, glass breaking, etc. at a school function where other kids might be tempted to try it. If you get the go ahead...have at it and blow...

I'll be posting the manufacturer of the magnetic coin set on Saturday for anyone else who would like to know. It is not exactly a scotch and soda set as it is more of a quarter and half set that is magnetic. Perfect for strolling. Price was $49.99 and is instant reset. I am not positive...

    Daniel Madison's Advocate

I wouldn't say it is difficult to use if you are confident and put in the time to rehearse it. The applications are endless. I am not just a card guy like many people on here. I dabble in a little bit of everything, kids magic, balloons, close up for adults, etc. That being said I just haven't...

    Various Money Tricks

I have learned in Magic that 99% of the time that you get what you pay for. Things that I have tried to cut corners on or purchase a cheaper / knock off version were not as good as quality. School Craft and Sasco I believe make good coins. There is also a new Scotch and Soda which does...
