    Daniel Madison's Advocate

The Advocate is a great tool when given the proper amount of practice. If you think you are just going to run out and start blowing minds within minutes of receiving the book / download...you are mistaken. I own it but have not used it very much. Some people will love it and others will be...

How many tricks should I start with?

I do not know that there is a "correct" answer for you because everyone is different in the pace that they learn material. I normally will work on two or three things at the same time for an extended period of time whereas someone else may believe that you can only do 1 effect until you have...

    Criss Angel on Wrestling

Man...I thought it would be a little more entertaining than that. Wow..it was o.k. at best.

    Bicycle 125 problem?

I haven't tried 125's yet but the Master's Edition Bikes from E hold up real well for me through practices and performances.

    Can you help me?

You can watch some teaser videos of people like B.Smith's Wounded, Tears of Blood, etc. to get some ideas that go that route. Black and White clips work well sometimes with scary stuff, the film looking distorted here and there. Quick bursts or strobe effect. Just trying to brainstorm.

    Simplicity

The Original Tarbell Course in Magic — Lesson 1 Simplicity of Tricks I want this fact to sink in: SOME OF THE GREATEST TRICKS AND ILLUSIONS ON THE STAGE ARE UNBELIEVABLY SIMPLE. Don't forget that you were once one of the spectators and believed these tricks to be almost superhuman feats...

    Need Help - Flip Mino

I have heard a lot of pros and cons on each of the Kodak versions and the Flip's. Neither one is completely flawless yet. That is why I am waiting another year or so when they get all the kinks out. For now you can get some sweet HD hand held cams for about $200. I know you said you don't...

Thought of Card In Envelope Plot

David Regal has a version called Special Delivery that uses a window envelope. It is a VERY simple method and I used this all of the time. The spectator selects a card, signs it, and it is found in the envelope that had been sitting on the table the whole time. It isn't exactly what you...

    Favorite Impromptu Effect

Isn't 37 Marc Oberon's effect? I own it and it hits on 37 about 75% of the time but there are other "outs" to hit the other numbers. It was a cool little effect for $10. As far as impromptu I also use Ring Thing from Garrett Thomas, rubber band magic if I have them on my wrist of Biddle if...

    New Website - Now Finished

Zach, Looks real nice man but I am going to definitely say ditch the enter "hello" screen. Looks really cheezy. Once you get to your home page it gets down to business and look very top notch. Love the colors and photos. Bio is a tad long but you've already heard that from others...

    How to Force Jumbo Cards?

Even in our magic ring and watching numerous amateur magicians try to force jumbo cards....it looks a bit sloppy. I have yet to see someone in person do a very good force with jumbo cards other than the cross cut force.

    Back to the Basics

I always practice my basic because I found that once I took time away from them to learn other effects / sleights and neglected them....they began to look not as polished. I would encourage everyone to go back to the basics to refine certain technique. Sometimes you can change or learn the...

    A Short Break

David, Stay strong and learn to use other means to achieve the adrenaline / high than drugs. I've seen way too many people go to far with drugs. You can do it and lean on others for help.

    Street Magic: Another Stigmata Video

The performance wasn't bad but wasn't super either. Always have the spectator show the camera the card or at least make sure more than one person knows the card or "hecklers" will change the card and you will look like you messed up. This happens a lot with people who are drinking or trying to...

    Stage Magic For Schools

Most schools are not going to allow you to do needle swallowing in front of kids. If they do and a child tries it at home (regardless of you telling them not to), the principal and you would be in some hot water. Stick to kid friendly stuff and illusions. Have fun. Sounds exciting.

Nice description and review. Thanks for taking the time to do that. You may have just sold me on it for the near future.

Getting a kiss successfully after a trick?

Reality One, I must admit that was kind of funny and may actually work 50% of the time. Secondly as many others have stated....you need a whole lot more going for you than just magic. It takes looks, self confidence, a personality, etc.
