Do you want to fool 98% or 100% of the time?

I understand where you're coming from, and wholly agree with your first post. I'm not sure I can agree with your example, however, there is a very fine line. You say you don't prepare your shows for those informed, and surely no matter how common the knowlede, would not the audience knowing...

Do you want to fool 98% or 100% of the time?

this is a difficult topic. OP, Do the audiences you refer to include randoms who've gone onto youtube and looked up magic stuff? if so, does that mean you would neglect using, say, a double lift in the context of an ACR?

What does your deck say about you?

my favoured deck for performances are pink ribbon bikes. i'm not even kidding. My main presentation style is trying to make myself look as laidback and as relaxed as possible when i perform, i try to make it look like i haven't reheared the trick for hours on end. The pink just adds a flavour...

    Thoughts on move monkeys

why do pianists learn to do diminished 7th arpeggios? it's good for your technique. I never do raise rise. I spent 4 months learning the ambitious raiser move. Did i add it to my repetoire? no. But, do i now have a much stronger and sensitive pinky that enhances my pinky counting? Yes...

The penetration of four cards through a jacket

by Guy Hollingworth in Drawing Room deceptions. I'm having quite a lot of trouble with the productions. It probably could be a lack of practice, but I've never had this much trouble with a sleight before, and I've been at this for about a week. does anyone know any sources of where else I...

    Idea for Halloween

because it's stereotyping the worst of what gets seen of catholics. like assuming that all muslims are suicide bombers, or all americans are fat, or all asians are bad drivers, or all politicians are corrupt, etc. if i went to a party dressed in a shirt with an american flag on it, wearing a...

    I'm a little pissed off...

i'm opposed to sleight purism as well, but daniel garcia's straw penetration on symphony is a pretty damn good ungimmicked solid through solid.

    Reputation Makers: What's Yours?

vernon's "out of sight out of mind" followed by paul vigil's "diplopia". it absolutely destroys. in fact, the only reason i do out of sight out of mind is to build up to diplopia. it's that good.
