    Card Manipulation Challenge

At least somebody thinks so. I daresay the challenge here has intimidated most of the card enthusiasts here. No one else has taken the opportunity so far. Perhaps the idea of actually choreographing has most of them scared. Either that or I'm the only person on the boards who likes The...

What is magic? The threshold between trickery and artistry.

I find it hard to believe they'd be doing card tricks. But have you considered what people think in the darkness of the seance room?

Seriously? That's what you take away from this? Jesus... Don't be too sure of that.

March 2009 :: What Drives You?

Who said I was talking just about magic? I would have thought by now that when I say, "Make of that what you will," people would know things are rarely that simple.

    What do you think?

Interestingly, limiting one's audience can actually yield greater success in business. But you have to be larger than life, a unique figure that cannot be had anywhere else. Please don't remind me what time it is. Insomnia really sucks. That said, what we have here is a veritable exalt...

    Card Manipulation Challenge

Again, I'm not battling, but I do want to see something interesting in the battle system. I can't stop people from specializing in cards. And come to think of it, it would be kind of pointless to try doing so anyway. The problem is that card manipulation is very seldom all that interesting...

    What do you think?

As I said, we're getting into pretty heavy territory with this one. Most of the people here have probably never thought about this. Sure, most of us have asked "If I could make the cards switch places, what would it really look like?" But that's a bit like making Kraft dinner compared to...

    What do you think?

We're getting into heavy territory. Magic as theater. If you're interested, I'd like to introduce you to a couple of bright young talents whom I completely made up named Daniel Creed and Drake Masters.

And I would tend to agree. But I would also suggest that those reactions might at the very least give us an idea of whether or not we're facing the right direction. At the very least, it's worth considering. That opens up a few questions from me personally. Would you consider film an art...

March 2009 :: What Drives You?

Just thought I would juxtapose those two together to make a point. Who doesn't like to be right? As for making people agree with me, it would be pretty damn boring if everyone thought like me. Not everything. Just a lot. This one confuses me a bit. Clarify? Actually, I made a demo...

To rephrase, I do not believe that the acquisition of excess material will provide adequate countermeasures to the larger conflict and will certainly fail bring cessation to the subtle undercurrents of the continuing inadequacy of coin-based chicanery.

No it's irrelevant. He wasn't asking you to pick your audience. He was asking you to not make the cliched screaming reactions the Mount Everest of your magic. And I agree. I very rarely get loud, screaming reactions. And it's not because I get to pick my audience, balls no! As an...

How Do You Feel About My Stories?

I'm just saying that these people, this trend in thinking... they exist. When I say most people, I really do mean most writers. Most people can't write and are not willing to put the effort into improving themselves. Especially with the advent of the internet as a publisherless medium. I'm...

I said no such thing. If they're content with that, then they won't concern themselves with this thread in the first place. Do not try to dumb down the conversation by advocating for those who don't want to partake in the discussion. Completely irrelevant.

March 2009 :: What Drives You?

Middle of the road between nice and rude is even more generic and faceless. As for results, the purpose of that thread was not to win converts to my extraordinarily militant opinions of what is and is not art. I prefer to measure success in terms of quality instead of quantity.
