Making a profit only seems like magic... -- News Story On Me

Technically true though. The difference between an amateur and a professional is an invoice.

March 2009 :: What Drives You?

Generally interested in things... Maybe later I can also take stuff and then do it. And if you're asking me to contribute with my own life story, I talk about myself too much as it is.

    TV Appearance Question

I do two things really well. Getting on TV isn't one of them. Otherwise I would not be here. Of course, since you choose to complain about my vagueness rather than doing the work yourself, I'll humor you as long as my limited attention span. A press package is what it sounds like. It's...

    Battling Theory11 Artists?

How does that distract me from the fact that it was just another run-of-the-mill Queens battle like the kind being made by everyone and their dog?

March 2009 :: What Drives You?

This is the most interesting topic we can come up with? Ourselves? Jesus...

    TV Appearance Question

You actually need me of all people to explain what a press package is?

    Sweet New Magic T-Shirt

I like Banachek, but he's something of a quote merchant. Let's face it, it's one of those things that just needs to be said. And to turn a blind eye to the fact that half-wit wannabe mentalists can go to him and pretty much buy an endorsement no questions asked is equally sad.

How Do You Feel About My Stories?

It's just a weird idea to me of submitting something for critique but taking criticism is optional. But that's me...

    Mythology routine battle

The video has an avi extension so most media players should be able to handle it. I'm considering removing the link and embedding a Google video player instead.

How Do You Feel About My Stories?

Make up your mind. If you're not doing it to improve, then you wouldn't give a dog's bollocks about getting critiques.

    Sweet New Magic T-Shirt

Well, whoop-dee-doo. I've been in magic for 6 years, and that only barely qualifies to start releasing material. No kidding. Have you ever noticed that when a rock band says, "This album is our heaviest/best/most experimental to date," that nobody believes them? First of all, this...

    The Dresden Files

The books certainly have better characters. In the show, Susan Rodriguez makes only one appearance, and she's surprised to learn that supernatural things exist. In the books, she's Harry's gal-pal, a reporter for the Arcane (a tabloid), and does[ believe in the supernatural. So much so that...

    Mythology routine battle

Not enough people who care. Most people are content to continue doing TiVo and pass battles, laboring under the delusion that technical skill means anything more than dick to people who matter (i.e. me).

    TV Appearance Question

There are ways to get on TV other than pure serendipity.

How Do You Feel About My Stories?

Pretty much the point I was trying to get at before. The whole idea of keeping everyone in suspense until the appointed deadline is a common amateurish mistake. If you want to improve as a writer, you need critics who look at your work before anybody else.

    Sweet New Magic T-Shirt

Translation: your friends are the only people who have seen this pap. Translation: I'm looking to turn a quick buck. No, you just want our money. You're not spreading the word, you're unabashedly advertising yourself and contributing nothing of actual value in the process. I searched...

How Do You Feel About My Stories?

Well at least you can back up what you said. I still have to disagree, because I draw a line between intuition and half-assing it. Ernest Leiman wrote North by Northwest and Hitchcock told him that no matter what he wrote it had to begin with an assassination at the UN, it had to involve a...
