A shame this needs to be repeated at all. Not posting would have said the same thing.

    Does Coin Magic...

It's very easy to say people are over-analyzing. It's quite another to actually analyze yourself. From one who knows. As for magic being about fun, I don't know how people expect magic to be taken seriously and advance as an art form when its own practitioners dismiss it as being just about...

Not even a story. Just something to involve them. Convince them they're more than just a bucket for the words you're vomiting.

    Being Chased

Id' say a big part of the problem is not that coin magic is so simplistic (in that it is very, very easy for a spectator to describe what just happened), but the fact that most magicians seem to think that simplicity will do the work for them. Because it's so straightforward, they don't feel...

But if they're properly involved, they won't see the point where the sleight happens. They won't be able to differentiate it because they're so immersed in the show.

    Mythology routine battle

That's the key to making magic commercial and artistic. There has to be something for the audience to relate to and associate. As an example, I recently had to do a 60-second commercial at a networking function for a colleague of mine who works in divorce and collaborative law. As I...

    Does Coin Magic...

Fifty bucks says you'd never know half the times I was palming things. You've never seen a truly involved audience then. I honestly don't buy that the classic palm is so suspicious looking that you can never get it by an audience. And I can sway this because of how successful I've been...

How Do You Feel About My Stories?

I'm sorry... what?! Do you have anything whatsoever to back up that statement? Proof or gtfo.

If people are responding to them, then that should be incentive enough to keep going. That's what is known as a mistake. Imagine if I never let anyone read my screenplays until shooting began?

    Mythology routine battle

The one about William Tell and running out of places to hide the bodies? Yeah, that was me. But remember, it's not patter, it's scripting. It's in my signature.

How Do You Feel About My Stories?

Dylan, I'm saying this as your friend. You really did not need to post this. I know why you're saying you do this, but it's a textbook definition of approval-seeking behavior. By all means, keep on posting regardless of what your detractors say. Agreeing to stop posting something to...

No problem. Editing really isn't as complicated as a lot of people make it out to be, so fire away with any questions you have.

    Mythology routine battle

Hey, throw down. Make it a free-for-all. Battles like this can be used to show who's got the goods and who's just running their mouths. Incidentally, I recall you criticizing me a few weeks ago for not posting my own videos. I'm not posting it here, but there's a demo video of me performing...

    Tllusion Tribute Video

Well you need to tell him to learn how to make a video that doesn't suck. It was more of the same generic Criss Angel knock-offs, blatantly obvious camera edit vanishes, over-use of chroma-key, visual effects that only further degraded the picture quality and obscured the on-camera action...

    Mythology routine battle

If you have the free editing software that came with your OS, you should be able to add subtitles and title cards as necessary. I ask for the audience because I'm just sick of seeing a pair of hands with someone's pubescent package as a backdrop. I want to know if anybody here can actually...

    Mythology routine battle

No, I'm not battling. I'm issuing a challenge to anyone who wants to show they can rise above the general mediocrity of endless TiVo variations and Queens battles. Here's what I'm looking for. I want to see two videos using mythology as the script to a routine. I want to see some fresh...

    Tllusion Tribute Video

It's much easier to do that than to show an ounce of creativity or originality. On a whim, I'm going to go drop a hook in the battle section right now and see if anybody bites. Just for the hell of it. EDIT: Done. Impress me.

Do the Bucks have good magic?

Well that begs a few interesting questions, doesn't it? Do we allow this sort of adjudication as a rule? Or a case by case basis? Or just when it's convenient? Does this mean that the cataloging system otherwise known as genres is flexible and fluid? Does that mean anything can be...

It looks like he put it together in Photoshop during lunch. Gentlemen... what we have here is the Soulja Boy of magic.

    Does Coin Magic...

I'm glad somebody caught that. I got the inspiration from Andrew Mayne's Ghost Bills. I took his opening line and developed the concept from there. That's my problem with most coin magic. The presentation has more cheese than a French winery.
