    A Few Questions

Probably parlour magic from the sounds of it (though I haven't seen the DVD). A lot of mentalism that involves cards is good for this sort of room. Basically you need effects that play well to larger audiences, which can be seen by everyone. Rope magic and cups and balls strikes me as...

    Performers Should Be Less Boring

There are some interesting and well expressed points here. First of all, I would like to say, in defence of myself and several people I personally know - I can't record live performances, for the simple lack of a camera. Due to the position of my computer and webcam, to the computer is really...

    USA Blockout

I have heard that Magicbox is legit, from memory from Chris and Dee, but best to PM them to make sure it's those guys. Best of luck with it.. Haha it's a wad of G. The wad of G has arrived!

    Some Original Music

No, but... Hold on lemme listen to that again... Ok, Tumbleweed is right - at the moment, the tune goes up to the F, down to E then goes back to the A and C... At around 0:10, the second time it goes to the F, maybe if it went F E A F G F and then go back down? I just meant play around with...

    Some Original Music

Hey man. I just had a quick listen to the first one, and I like it. I was just wondering, are you posting it here for advice or just for show? I do have some thoughts about the first one but I don't want it to feel like I'm criticising, especially if that's not what you're looking for. For...

    Psychological Forces

Purely psychological forces? Derren Brown - The Devil's Picturebook. Widely recommended, and rightly so. Has several types of forces in there.

    Panic Repeat

I think you might have to look at the problem a bit closer. I don't want to go into too much detail now but it feels like you need to establish more authority when you're performing. I don't know the circumstance of the performance, but it should be clear that you're a magician, and not a lap...

    change. plain and simple

The change looks good, the trick looks shocking. When you shake the card, you look really restricted, like you're not used to the motions, or you're trying to do something really difficult. Either way it's not very smooth or good looking. Magic is about showmanship, and I don't know what you...

    Lying Eyes?

If an actor does not believe his lie, neither will his audience.

Totally Out of Control - Better left unreplicated?

I definitely agree. As I was thinking about a routine to put together today, I ran through the motions of my Out of this World routine. I've done it God knows how many times. I know the patter inside and out, I know the timing, every little thing that has possibly gone wrong in the past, every...

    change. plain and simple

It looked really... Restricted? =/ I dunno, that's the only word I can come up with at the moment - when you're doing what I assume is the covering motion of shaking the card.

    False Deal DVD's or Books

Card Control by Arthur Buckley has one of the best descriptions of second deals in print, as well as going over bottoms.

    looking for ideas...

There's a sleight called Exchange in Arthur Buckley's Card Control which seems vaguely suited to what you're looking for. Palmed cards are switched for tabled cards, essentially. Alternatively, you could use some form of a Breakless Curry Change to change them in the turnover motion. I hope I...

    Lost magic...

To Brad Christian, there's the Classic Pass. :P

    Bertroid Change

It looks pretty nice, and I love the name. However, when you execute the change, you momentarily stop the shaking - so there's a definitely a break in rhythm there. Nice work, just needs a little bit more smoothness - slow down the shaking if you need to.

    My Subway performance

The DMB wasn't so terrible imo but the effect, as Sean said... If I didn't know Subway, I wouldn't have understood the effect, what was happening or what was meant to happen. The climax was kinda like.. Ok... Was that... Meant to happen? Cool, I guess...
