    Ghost Deck

Well...He didn't say that T11 wasn't overpriced. Also, that was written back in 2007. I'm not sure when T11 released the Guardians? So perhaps he thinks all $5.00 cards are overpriced?

    Cold Deck

Daniel Madison has a pretty good booklet out on it I think it is more practical for a Gambling Demo than an actual gambling situation.

How many cards can you backpalm?

I believe he was referring to the number of respondents not the distribution of the statistics. 21 is not a huge tally of voters for a forum as big as T11.

Acta Deceptio: What Makes Great Playing Cards?

I agree completely. That's why after 2 years of going through great pains to ensure I offer detailed and comprehensive card reviews I have come to the conclusion that the best way to describe a card to someone who hasn't ever tried it before if to find out other cards that they do know and tell...

Acta Deceptio: What Makes Great Playing Cards?

Anyone who knows me knows I could probably write a book on this topic. Lol I'll keep it brief though. The beauty of falling in love with cards is that it opens your eyes to different styles of card magic and flourishing. In that sense the meat an potatoes(what makes the card work) like the...

    Ultimate ACR

Two things on that shake. One, I assumed you were doing Aaron Fisher's "The Graduate" for the card rise. The way you worded that I suspected that perhaps this wasn't that move? If it is "The Graduate" then you really need to work on it some more. It shouldn't look like that. Check around for...

People are addicted to cards now?

I really have had no issue with anyone so far who has indicated they are not into playing card collecting. To each their own. However, the the above statement is completely fallacious(except for the bit about your opinion). Indeed playing card collections are exactly that. Something to show off...

People are addicted to cards now?

Not positive about your statistics? I'm sure the majority of magicians are not card collectors but in the same breath I would guess that a good percentage of "Card Magicians" are. I doubt it reaches over 1/2 but I'm sure it is at least 1/4 to 1/3rd...I'm just speculating myself of course...

People are addicted to cards now?

I'll chip in with another vote for the old Masters. Although I think it should be pointed out that this "Custom Deck" fad led directly to the masters. Many magicians felt the quality difference in the Ghost and Black Tiger decks but wanted a card that looked "Normal." Thus, the Masters deck was...

People are addicted to cards now?

People have been addicted to cards for a long time. More to the point, card magicians have been doing card collecting as a side hobby for a long time as well. Kind of makes sense I think. It certainly wouldn't surprise me if their are coin magicians who also get into coin collecting. Go search...

    Impromptu tricks?

@ Craig Browning I think you are absolutely right. We do agree on quite a bit more than we disagree on. I do think, however, that if your first love is cards then there is nothing wrong with using them as an "Impromptu" effect because for 1. If you are nuts about cards you will probably always...

Aaron Fisher "Personal Coaching" and "In Session"

Aaron’s knowledge base: Aaron eats, sleeps, and breaths card magic. He has got to be one of the most well read and practiced card magicians in the world. What’s more is that his interests in study are much greater than the style in which he performs. For example, the ACR I worked on with him...

Aaron Fisher "Personal Coaching" and "In Session"

Aaron Fisher “Personal Coaching” and “In Session” Before I get into the details let me give you the Cliff Note version of this. If you want to be a truly great card magician (mediocrity just isn’t good enough for you) and you don’t have access to a mentor then getting a lesson from Aaron...

Saturday Night Contest - Show Them Off!

Wow! You all did great. One of the strongest SNC fields I have seen in a long time. I thoroughly enjoyed watching them all.

    Card cheating

Well done again. I have to say that I love the fact that you are featuring some tabled passes. I have been working those a lot lately myself. Seems that a lot of guys posting gambling moves often forget the passes. If you are taking requests I'd love to see some straight up hops and dive shifts.

A step back into the classics

I'm not missing the point. You missed mine. One ACR was designed for practice. If you watch it you will likely get bored. The other one I took the elements I liked from the first, trimmed it down, to make it a performance ACR. Two different ACRs for two different reasons. The one I am performing...

    Impromptu tricks?

Having a bias against cards(or even coins) within the confines of your specialty is an argument that I can certainly respect because their are very solid arguments against doing so in mentalism. On the other hand, trying to posit that a restaurant or walk around magician should leave those...

    Fool Us Act

I agree with you SG. Intellectually I realize that it probably wasn't stooged. I'm assuming Penn and Teller would have called him out if it were. Nevertheless, emotionally, it had the "feel" of a stooged effect. He should have sold the spectator selection a little better IMO.
