That is a bit snippy. Really brings up the brand. Insecurity would be going into an interview with a movie star and spend half the time doing XCM instead of talking about the movie.
First off this isn't a magic forum. This is a card magic and XCM forum. No where is there a sub-forum for...
Yes I would. Anyone who doesn't have enough common sense to know when not to do something have no social grace. There is value in XCM, but the ones I see in my day to day life only do XMC and do it at all the wrong times. There is a part in my show where I say now let me do a simple cut and for...
I know it is skill, but 99% of the time it leads to more of the same. I love Eric Clapton, but you listen to him long enough you start to hear the same licks and runs over and over. Sometimes you need to throw a little something different in there to give your ears a break The same with the XCM...
It's not fun to phone it in. Also once it is out there on the interwebs it's out there for good. We who making a living with magic do not really need a half-assed video out there of our work. The last thing we need is for a client to google us and find some shaky cellphone video of us that we...
I was saying magicians think the jugglers have too much time on their hands. 99% it is the same cuts and fans that leads to move cuts and fans. It doesn't lead to a dove or rope or anything other than more cuts and fans.
QUOTE=Randy;413758]I'm saying that not everybody buys artifice cards. While, I understand that their target market are teenagers who constantly buy all the new custom decks and not people who simply buy their decks at Costco or decks that look normal. I am just stating that if they are made only...
Craig of Craig and Dave ripped it apart. He was doing what you can do with the gimmick with page one Bobo.
here is the review.

I don't understand how something like McDonald's Aces feels fake. Or Sympathetic Cards, In a Flash, Intercessor or TnR feels fake. There is so many powerful effects out there that ya'll are missing out on by this no gaff thing.
I hear that Ricky Jay uses gaffs. Dai Vernon used gaffs. Other great magicians use/used gaffs. Shocking I know. Great magicians using a gaff. I never understood the people saying they are not fond of gaffs. ID is a gaff. McDonald's Aces is a gaff. There is so much great magic out there that is...
Also when all else fails go with some nice classical or maybe a nice jazz or big band standard. I would never use the music i listen to in a video. I mean i'm not sure how many people enjoy Hayes Carll, Todd Snider, and Justin Townes Earle.
Even in your native tongue would have been great. Living in Houston I will get couples from all over the world in the restaurants I work and while busking. You can do much with the inflection of your voice when those who are watching to not speak your language
Honestly I couldn't get very far into it between the music and the camera work. I have never understood why some younger magicians have to have loud music over everything. Unless you are going to lug around speakers to use this music when you perform for people why use it in a video? You talk to...
It is a great book. Yes there is a DVD set with him out there where he teaches is stuff. The only real upside to those DVDs is that it comes with the PDFs of three lecture notes from Derek. Those alone are woth the $50 for the DVDs. So yeah drop the $125 for the DVD set and the book.
If you are talking about Sympathetic cards you can't. If you are talking in general yes but why make the moves harder than they need to. The normal non-magician watching you does not care how you get to the denouement, only that they were entertained. Only magicians care about the hard moves. We...
