Personal Fear :: Feeling Limited By Age

Every magician who is truly dedicated to the art can contribute A LOT to the magic community. Look at some of the big named magicians, they are a lot older then the young guns around the magic community. The older magicians are the MAIN contributors to the magic community. Why? Experience is...

    Beginner at school

That shouldn't be your top goal. You shouldn't try and "out do" him. What you need to do is pull him aside and tell him that out of respect for the art magic he should practice and create true magic with a strong performance style. Mitchell

    Factory Sealed?

You can say any magic effect is easy. What's NOT easy is making it your own and making it absolutely look real. That is something that takes time and practice. I recommend reading these reviews of Factory Sealed. http://forums.theory11.com/showthread.php?t=2189...

    Showing Off - Do you?

Flourishing, like magic, is a form of entertainment and "divertissement" (sorry, I only know the word in French.) I do flourishes with my magic routine to "fill gaps". Many flourishers flourish in their spare time as a way to kill time. For some reason my English is coming out really badly...

Pass the card right in front of their faces

The pass is a move to be used under misdirection. Every time I do a pass I do it under misdirection, so there is no need to get it done RIGHT in front of their eyes. You can do it under the figurative "cover of night fall". Mitchell

    Performing Tricks Slowly Is Better?

I honestly don't like either. I'm more in the middle. I try to pace myself, I hate dragging things out and I also hate rushing things. So everything is evenly paced throughout my routine. Mitchell

    Creating Real Magic

Once a magician comes to this question, they are ready to move away from being a traditional performer. What you truly have to do is look within. I know that sounds extremely corny, but sit down on your couch or lie down on your bed and just think. Think about what you want to achieve out of...

    Performing Tricks Slowly Is Better?

I chose fruitcake because well... FRUITCAKE. But in all seriousness it depends on the performer. The performer may want to have a confusing, fast pace routine rather than a slow and mysterious performance. Each can work depending on the performer. If you can make it work... then JUST DO IT...

    New Site

The first thing you might want to do with that site is edit. There are quite a few typos that I saw when looking at your site. I also agree with what the previous posters said about domains. They make your site seem so much more professional. Just some tips! :). Have fun with the site...

    Help with the parents...

Your parents love you, and I know for a fact that magic can be very distracting. I barely passed high school because I was so caught up in my magic. Nothing mattered to me besides practicing. It came to a point that I had to slap myself and wake up. The best medicine is to sit down with your...

    Video Editing Software

Final Cut Pro is TOP OF THE LINE. There's not much better a consumer can use than Final Cut Pro. I have heard Ellusionist uses Final Cut Pro to edit their videos. I'm not sure about what Theory11 uses. Hope that helps!

    Video Editing Software

For a really good editing program, you'll have to fork out some cash. If you are on a PC then Sony Vegas or Adobe Premiere is the way to go. For a Mac, Final Cut is THE best editing software on the market. If you are a good editor though, you can make great films with any editing program you...

    Are we all guilty?

Either one is wrong and ILLEGAL. I don't download music, I used to, but I ceased to do so because I prefer to support the artist who put their time and effort into creating the piece. That is what it comes down to, supporting the artist, creator, director, etc. Downloading music or magic is...
