Because it's not getting 8 magicians together, it's getting 1 magician and 7 laymen together. I think Doug's point is that the commercial image of magic that a club provides, spreading the word, etc., spreads the wrong ideas, invites the wrong people and creates an entirely different atmosphere...

Andi Gladwin also deserves a mention for impressive crediting in 52 Memories, Jack Parker's book - I love reading that stuff, credits influences as well as literal roots.

To be honest - i have NO idea how he found even part of, never mind almost every one of his effects, on the search engine. Unless he was using every single generic trick in the book, or was silly enough to tell them the name of the effect (and they were all common effects...)... I just don't get...

Would you not say that it is the general professional consensus? All reputable books that I own have followed this procedure. On which point, if you do, do you disagree? Not attacking you or anything, just curious.

The KK aspect reminds me of Reynolds' Seven... Sure, minus the blank deck... Minus the deck... I think I'll stick with that for (imo) a purer version of KK, and just as awesome (and it vastly improved on KK's limitations...)

For regular practice decks, you'll want to look at Tallys. For the sake of trying them though, you should, in time, buy like just one of each of the most popular decks and try them out though - you never know what you'll like, it's a matter of personal preference.
