    Torn or TnR?

I'd say go for TNR. It may not be impromptu, but it's a blast to perform. It feels more magical to me. You just feel like such a magician when you perform it.

    How to structure a routine?

I always start with either my ACR or 2CM. I'd recommend finishing with Panic, like everyone else is saying. You probably don't want to do your most complex piece last. You want something simple that you can't screw up under any circumstances so that your audience is assured a powerful closer...

    Advice wanted for a beginner...

Try Bobo's Modern Coin Magic or Royal Road to Card Magic. Good simple and advanced material in there. Great for beginners. Jay Sankey's magic might also be good. PenguinMagic.com has a lot of his stuff. From here, I'd definitely recommend Witness or even Digital Dissolve.

    Stigmata: Should I get it?

If you do stigmata too much, fur will grow on your hands. No, just kidding. I got it as a gift, so it was easily worth the price. Really is impromptu. You can do it with cards, so in that case you'll need some cards. nice effect, good buy, tres tres powerful.

    Do you like Books?

Hmmm... Maybe you're right. Books are bad for your eyes. Not like staring at the screen of your computer for 12 hours straight in the dark at midnight... ...wait a minute...

    Refine Theory11?

Wait, what are you guys arguing about? It's not really any of my business, but isn't this what we're trying to avoid? I see cases for both sides. Chris: I see you're angle of wanting to keep this place streamlined, but I think we shouldn't force it. Just let it be. The reason this...

    Routine Advice

I'm not personally familiar with "The Books of Wonder," but I'm posting anyway so that you don't think that no one has a single comment about your question. If I were you, I'd just close with something really simple and direct, like you disappearing. Maybe work on a variation of an old...

    New Orleans Public Library News

Personally, I am really into books and bookmaking (not gambling, mind you, but physically creating and binding books). Some people have pet peeves; mine is low-quality books. My other pet peeve is text on computers. I hate reading on computer screens. If I could print everything out and...

    Unpublished Ideas/1-on-1 videos

I'm mainly a card person, but I would love to see some coin basics, some simple vanishes, productions, etc. Some simple coin stuff that I can pick up relatively easily. And then maybe some more intermediate and advanced stuff.

    New Orleans Public Library News

For anyone who live in or around New Orleans, the New Orleans Public Library, as part of this grant they're getting is getting basically this gigantic machine which essentially creates nicely-bound soft-cover books from PDF files. These are not Kinko's quality. These (from what I heard) are...

    Palming advice

I've always had a problem palming because my fingers are so damn skinny that one can see whether or not there's a card behind them (this makes it very difficult to do the invisible palm). So more often than not, I'll use a tenchai palm to keep a card hidden, but that's just me. I'm still...
