You could force a card and then read the participant's body language and so on. Pick the hot girl again and you're set to go. Just take something simple and present it out of your skin.

Maybe you just need to change the way of the picking. I find that i can do quite a few pickacard tricks if there are a few people. I would usually do a pickacard trick, then gambling/oil and water/reset, then pickacard again, then back to some packet of pocket stuff, more pickacard and finish...

Ah! Finally got it down. Not perfect everytime but 70% it does work. Still, just not as amazing as something simpler than an Erdnase or Shapeshifter. Is it really worth learning just to use in Steve Freeman's Time Machine plot? You decide.

Really cool but Danny Garcia has a move like that called the Ego Sl.......sorry i couldn't help it. Sweet control and i'm still in the dark as to how it works. Keep it to yourself though, it's your move and maybe someday will feature in a set of lecture notes or a dvd.

I have tried this change a couple of times and everytime i do it is seems the card on the face sticks out from the top. It doesn't disappear into the hand/spread but stays sticking out. Any tips?

I usually glimpse the selection before taking out the five cards in order. If they selected a 5 of spades for example, i just take out the 5 heart cards. Easy. I do hate that dead silence slowly spreading from the spectator to your nerves...awful.

I think you need to delay the spreading of the face down cards at the end. If you do this you will end up with two powerful climaxes. You don't let the magic sink in after revealing the selection and i think that's why dragon521 feels it is choppy. Let that phase of the effect fully register...
