Actually, spectators will probably trust you more if you start off with something that they see and use everyday- like money. It's definitely a double edged sword, though, and I can see your point of view, too.
That's one of the most ignorant statements I've heard in a while, Ling. Any effect can be "killer" with the right presentation. If you're not getting the reactions you want with an effect, re-work your presentation and see if that helps.
Yes, I kind of agree with you, but I can also see where what you did was kind of a jerk move. It'd be like Akira Fuji coming on here and challenging everybody to a "Pass" Challenge. It's a sleight he's obviously spent hours upon hours on, and it shows. I bet you would back down from that...
Does it really matter that much? Here are the main three reasons I want to do it tomorrow:
1) I'm tired and want to go to bed.
2) The Media Section doesn't work very well on this computer... I can't even watch videos anymore. :( But I'll be back on mine tomorrow, so that'll all be fixed...

No, magic is most definitely an art, and should be treated as such. It is a hobby for some... ok, most that partake in it, but so is painting. Magic and painting are still both art forms.
