Erdnase Acorn Backs: Ivory vs. Cambric?

Depends on what you like really. I like stiff springy decks for some things and softer decks for other things. The Irony is that I prefer a softer deck for gambling stuff...ie the stuff you learn from Erdnase...and stiffer decks for in hands type stuff. Thus, in blending the "character" of the...

    Need help

If you browse through the penguin blog you will find that they have been doing lots of interviews lately with various effect creators. There is some good insite in those interviews. What jumps to mind is one from Tom Stone where he mentions that he keeps a notebook and writes down every crazy...

Erdnase Acorn Backs: Ivory vs. Cambric?

The Acorn backs are very stiff. Whether Cambric ir Ivory. They will feel more like a thick stocked steamboat than an aladdin.

    Ambitious Graduate?

7 more years of refinement. According to the Graduate PDF. I don't have the 2003 lecture notes to give you a specific run down on what has been refined.

    help me switching decks please

I would personally say, don't use bridge sized decks. You may not be as proficient at some of your sleights now but you will be better off in the long run.

Conjuring Arts Acorn Back Bee Deck question?

Okay so the CA acorn back bees have David Blaine on the spade, I'm pretty sure the King of Diamonds is Guy Hollingworth, but who are the King of Clubs and the King of Hearts?

In Need Of Some Durable Cards

@crimson ace- If fanningis ultimately the most important thing for you then I would go with one of the Bee brands, particularly any with an Aristocrat stock. When it comes to fanning you can never fully guarantee that what you experience will be the same as someone else. Different skin oils...

In Need Of Some Durable Cards

Stingers....any Bee for that matter....are great provided you don't live in a real humid climate. It also depends on on what factor usually causes you to "retire" a deck. Some decks get clumpy fans. Some decks lose their "snap" and get really soft. What makes you decide to toss a deck? If you...

In Need Of Some Durable Cards

Try finding Fournier or Piatniks. I prefer the Fourniers because they are a bit thinner and it is nice to hve a thinner deck when the cards are that stiff. If you insist on sticking with USPCC I would second the Bike masters but the problem is that if you find a genuine UV500 stock then you are...

    what do u do when

HaHa well if you are doing Trilogy effects 100 times might not be enough. I've been working the Queens on and off for over six months and I am not totally happy with it. Also you have to realize that that extreemly visual style appeals more magicians who can appreciate the dedication it takes to...

    My newest card change

It had lots of cover and went very fast....For some reason it didn't work for me. Most good changes have solid cover, or are performed very quickly, but that doesn't mean the two should be combined. Examples, Cardini change. No cover really(there is but the spectators don't know that) and it...

    The Future Of Playing Cards

If Dice, and games with dice, managed to survive the technological innovation of the playing card some 600 years ago, then I reckon the playing card will have no trouble surviving video poker.

How well do you know your cards?

2nd row...between the blue Wynn and the Split Spade? 3rd row...between the v.4 and the "vintage bike"? and 2nd to last row between the v.4 and the Phoenix deck? So what are those cards? They look nice.

    The Graduate by Aaron Fisher

Good point above...and nice review BTW...but I have both and here is my thought. The Graduate is a worker for guys who want bombproof angles. I think it will work better for restaurant and walk around guys. The moment of coverage will likely go unnoticed by the laiety(they don't scrutinize this...

    Classic Pass Flash

Much better. Keep the hands in motion during it. On a few you paused 1/2 a beat before pulling out the top packet, thus I could see 1/2 the pack "disappear." Ultimately it is an unperfectable move so in addition to trying to make it look cleaner...and quieter...you need to work on timing your...
