jazzhands1, the problem with the traditional grip is that the spring is too quick and hard to control (in comparison to the corner grip method). Try the corner grip as described by Jerry and you'll see that you have a lot more control over the speed of your spring.

It should be "comprises", not "compromises". They have completely different meanings. I believe the term is "cardist" for someone who performs cardistry. It was coined by Richard Zadorozny for this purpose.

Well now you have the maturity to actually practice your tricks before you show anyone. The magicians who started very young (under 10 years of age) tend to show their tricks the minute they learn them which may mess with their confidence when spectators say "It was cool but I saw what you did"...

For magic tricks - NO. Just use a cheaper method (i.e. mark the cards yourself) For cheating at cards - not unless you have a buff guy (or you, yourself are quite the "buff") to back you up if you get caught.

Check out any Handlordz videos on YouTube. They steer away from "sybil cuts" and have a lot of variety. Mix "cardistry" with "XCM" and you have yourself a sexy combo.
