    Help with research paper

Hi guys, I'm writing a paper for my English class about how magic is a dying art. Naturally, I am required to support my thesis with sources such as internet articles. Can anyone point me to the right direction? Thanks.

What the general public thinks about magic exposure...

Wow. Reading your post opened my eyes to a new perception of exposure. We tend to complain about how exposure ruins the art but we sometimes don't notice the underlying feeling of no longer being special. As a magician, most of us are used to being on the spotlight that it is severely...

    Different Language in Performing

I think he's asking whether or not changing one's language in a performance is considered not being yourself. To answer that, it depends on the reason why you talk differently. If you use a language you don't casually use in order to create some sort of stage persona then you wouldn't be...

    Pressure by DG & DC

I agree. That is a very misleading line.

    A night to remember.

You know, you already gave away gaffs when you performed during the debut practices. You shouldn't have performed with gaffs again knowing that they'll ask for the cards. Oh well...I guess girls can affect your decision making.:p

    Advocate Ideas

I personally think that the Advocate is too dirty and unorthodox. I haven't and won't ever use it.

    My problem with Youtube magic.

My theory on why people hide their faces is because they are shy or lack the confidence to show their face. Like you said, magicians need to get over that and start gaining confidence to perform out there where people can see them.

Is there a better way to say "pick a card."

I usually hand them the pack and casually say: "Go ahead and just take one." You can shuffle it if you want." It emphasizes the selection being completely fair.

    Daniel Madison's Site - Down?

Until I tried the magicisdead link in his artist profile, I couldn't access Daniel Madison's website in my ipod, macbook, and PC (but i could in my cellphone and the school computer). Now, the magicisdead link was updated and I can't access it anymore. Is Daniel Madison's site secured so that...

    Can you...?

I am a card magician at heart and i sometimes get inquiries as to whether or not I could perform effects that don't involve cards. What clever answers can I give so as not to disappoint or lower the expectations of the audience? I usually say "no" or "I'm still practicing".

    Control

I myself own it but have yet to perform it. This only due to the fact that I don't really see myself pulling this off with my lack of skill in showmanship and misdirection. However, coming from someone who owns it yet does not use it, I can say that it was still worth the purchase as it has a...

    Dangerous: Motion

If you don't have much experience, you won't be able to maximize the content. Sure you'll be able to do some of the easy stuff but the best parts are very advance and hard to pick-up if you don't have much practice.
