I don't like it at all. Sorry, just something about it makes me... not like it. lol Good that you're trying to be creative, though.

    Jay Sankey on Fancy Decks

I can see both edges of the sword here. On one hand, the cards look freakin sweet, and more often than not handle like a dream. I also agree that it is mostly how you handle the cards, not how they look. However, I do agree with Mr. Sankey that spectators like familiarity and it makes...

    Help with school heckler!

Here's the essay: http://forums.theory11.com/showthread.php?t=2019 It's a little long, but I feel it will help you. Good luck with your heckler!

    Help with school heckler!

Just ignore him and move on. Tell him that you won't continue performing around him, and your audience will take care of him. I have an essay on Hecklers here, I think it's worth the read if you have problems with it. Just do a quick search. It's called Heckers- The Essay.

    Alpha Cards by Jesse Feinberg

Sorry 'bout that. I'm usually a lot nicer, but I was in a bad mood that night... which is no excuse, but oh well. I apologize... for real this time.

    Appropriate thread deleted?

They discussed this at the I.B.M meeting I attended in August. At first I thought it would be a good idea, but after hearing more about it, I decided that these people should be shunned by all magicians. What they are doing is ethically, and I believe legally wrong. Obviously, they are...

    Alpha Cards by Jesse Feinberg

My bad. I thought the people would be intelligent enough to at least call the effect by its proper name. I apologize for my stupidity.

    Alpha Cards by Jesse Feinberg

Hey, I saw these things over at Penguin, and they look simply awesome. In case you don't want to venture over to the Bird, they are basically cards that visually change into a different card with heat. You seriously have to see the demo to believe it... it's more visual and looks a lot cleaner...

Any tips for learning magic? How?

One thing I don't recommend is practicing while watching T.V., and other stuff like that. You want to give practicing your whole, undivided attention, to make sure that your performances are the absolute best that they can be. I think performing for your little brother would be great. He'll...

    Funniest Reactions?

I did Ultimate Transpo w/ a Shapeshifter Color Change to make the switching visual, and the guy slowly opened his hand, stared at the card for about 15 seconds, goes, "What the ****?", and walks away. Everyone else was using curse words, as well. It was pretty neat. I don't think that's the...

I love live TV - Phenomenon!

I realize that I'm a little late, but I just want to point out how big of an ass Criss is. To call out and heckle another magician on live, national television like that is completely disrepectful, especially of the Magician's Code. Of course, with all the fame he's received, something tells...

    Showing Off - Do you?

I don't think I show off, but sometimes I perform for a little more than I should, and the few times that has happened, the spectators got bored... fast. But, somethings you have to learn the hard way, right?

    Beginner at school

You are taking the complete wrong attitude towards the situation. Magic, especially in school, is purely about entertaining, not "showing up" the magician next to you. You are both magicians, and although you may not get along, you two should have a basic respect for you. This art is not...

How do you learn tricks from books?

It's not a hard thing to do. Just follow the instructions from the book to the letter. Then, once you get the effect down, you can modify it to fit your performance needs.

    A rant.

I think the Pass "cult" has developed simply because magicians want to be able to say, "Look how fast my Pass is!", and therefore claim to be better than other magicians. But, what's the point in this useless competition? I for one have never used a Pass... I, like Shodan, feel it's...

    Addiction

I consider myself addicted... it's like a drug! However, I still get good grades in school, and I have no trouble advancing in cardistry... I guess I'm one of the lucky ones. Oh, and I'll be 15 mid-December, so...

    INSTANT TiVo IDEA

the-trilogy... CIBs are not different effects. They are just different methods. Just because they claim that the coin "melts" right through the bottle, it does not mean that it is a different effect. The effect is exactly the same... a coin goes into a bottle.

    How do you perform "Shapeshifter"?

I personally grip it by the index corners, and use my thumb. I find that this has worked very well for me, but I think I'm going to have to give the other methods a try.

    Help with the parents...

Oddly enough, I just posted an essay I wrote about "anti-magic" parents a couple days ago... you might want to give it a read. http://forums.theory11.com/showthread.php?t=2110 Enjoy, and good luck with those parents!
