    Stage Close-Up

So, I'm a card and minor coin guy, and I'm doing a talent show tonight. What's the best way to make sure everyone can see without the aid of camera-projector combo? Basically, what tricks are more visible? I'm trying to pick my brain, but it's hard coming up with some of this. Thanks in advance...

    Performing At School

Perform sparsely. I rarely performed in high school. I performed Hovercard once in Physics class (blabbing about magnetism etc.) and once in a classroom with some friends. I NEVER performed it in school again, yet people were ALWAYS asking me to make a card levitate from their hands etc. The...

    Smoke & Mirrors Concepts

I like the originals more so than these, but if they made 'em in a deeper red and a darker blue, I'd consider them... SG

    Card Counting

Agreed, but in that private game, you'd need to be playing with 3 or 4 decks in order for your count to mean any thing. With only 52 cards, first of all the deck will never get very "hot", and if it is, it'll last for a hand or two maybe. SG

    Card Counting

What I'm saying, because people don't seem to get the picture, is that card counting is impossible now. Most major casinos now have a machine that shuffles the most recently discarded cards in with the rest of the deck. This means that there is no PAST to the game anymore. The whole principle of...

    Card Counting

Back in the day actually, card counting was great and effective. Knowing when the deck is hot only increases your odds mildly because you can't just switch from betting the minimum to betting all you got. What they did in Bringing Down the House (21), was call someone over the table in the...

    5X Speed

Staying on the safe side of exposure, there is minimal setup, and yes, the deck could be borrowed. SG p.s. This trick is well worth the five bucks. It's "impossible" and catches people off-guard. People flip when I do this trick.

    A Battle Button

I know that there's already a link in the Media section, but could we maybe put one on the home page? I know that would be the first place I go if it were there. It would just be more convenient. Any takers? Thanks for listening Admins (I hope)... SG

    Another Thought For Battle Tournament

Good lord... Just make something with funny or different rules. Look at the battle between Joel Paschall and The Dark Angel: Tricks can be coins, cards, whatever you want. A minimum of two effects, no more than four. Editing only in titles/credits. Can be for live audience or for...

    Another Thought For Battle Tournament

Genius! I see what you're saying. So instead of just having flourishing or magic or something, we could devise a system in which we make our own rules for the battles! That's great! Like, you must do two tricks for a live audience, or you must mention Hannah Montanna in a routine, or something...

    Diary of a Nitwit Magician

Day 22 OMG! I've had the idea. So I saw Tom doing this trick that looked familiar. So I went back on youtube, checked out all my subscriptions, and found the name of the trick. Indecent Coin in Can. Needless to say I kept researching. I always knew I had the work-ethic to make me great. So...

    Comedy in Magic

Honestly, I thought this might be a joke when I got about half-way through. Ya' know, a way to spark an argument and get people worked up. Sadly, I think you're serious. No one, no spectator that is, gives a darn what complicated sleight you're doing. If you want them there, burning your...

    Clip Shift

Guys, c'mon. It's a difficult, very knacky move. What everyone needs to do is practice. Trial and error helps too. Analyze the move toy around with different ways of doing it, and practice more. Change finger positions etc, but it's going to be different for everyone. There is no tip that will...
