For the actual splitting part, I found this really helpful: https://www.theory11.com/marketplace/blake-vogt/split-session-v1-speed-split

Where you can learn amazing and 'brand new' magic!

A friend shared this video with a group of us after our meeting. There is so much wisdom here. I love when he says at the beginning that the ideas are so old, they are brand new. I hope this encourages many of you to explore knowledge of those before you. At the meeting, I had a young guy say...

Saturday Night Contest - Style Shot

Well we just had another dump of snow here so I thought I'd make use of it! Seasons playing cards I think make an interesting statement with the swing covered in snow. https://www.instagram.com/p/BRRqLz_gn4w/

Saturday Night Contest - Style Shot

I might be mistaken, but I believe that you can share a link and people can see it still. But yes you can typically post using another method.

    Monarch playing card quest

I remember when the email came it was really intriguing. Within the month one deck sold on ebay for $700, and another for $500. I dug up the email we got when we learned about the complications. It was well handled and brought a lot of respect to T11. I still haven't opened my three decks. ---...

    Order Processing

I'm sure you will see it go through early this week. If you have any shipping issues, definitely contact support. But you will see it soon. - And you will really like Smoke! It's quite fun.

    Silent Treatment (Digital)

Good questions. I don't know the answer, but I always liked the humor and oddity of it. I think that's what could make it work. I haven't ever picked it up because in most venues, I don't know if everyone would be able to read it very well from across a huge room. But for a smaller space it...

Share your approach lines for inspiration for those starting out.

I perform in an area that is not packed with magicians, so every event, people are genuinely interested and excited to see me perform. For the first few tables, it's sufficient to start with a simple line. Personally I approach as if I was a manager checking in on how things are going. I say...

    DIY Topit

Ya, it's best to pick up someone's design (maybe a couple). I know with Ammar's, there was quite a lot of consideration that went into it. A friend gave me his pin-in topit, and it was pretty much useless. I picked up Ammar's pattern and it added a lot of clarity. You still need to DIY, and can...

    Magic Party Favors

Interesting. I wonder if you wrote out some super easy muggle magic tricks on a small sheet with your website and name on it, that it could be added to the deck of cards - it would be a neat take away and put your contact info in the hands of each person there. I wonder if there would be a way...

    quick idea

That's an interesting concept I hadn't thought about. I know one guy who cuts 20 cards for a trick, and he's done it so much he can do it nearly without fail. I suppose this would be the same idea.

    How to Work with Volunteers

To be honest, I think that's the goal. To create space for them to say or do something funny - but make it look like you didn't expect it. When you watch David Williamson perform it all looks so off the cuff - until you see him perform 3-4 times. Then you realize that he generates those...

    How to Work with Volunteers

Great stuff here David. I am still learning how to manage my volunteers - how to thank them well, how to move around them, etc. For my current show, its a value that the audience be highly engaged (lots of audience participation). So in order to facilitate new volunteers for nearly every effect...

Should I buy a brick of cards

If it was me in your shoes, I'd buy a cheap brick of bikes to practice with and burn through (Here in Canada, bricks go on sale for $9 often.). But I enjoy the custom decks so I would buy a small variety rather than a brick of the same with the extra money you have.

    Card production

I would play with Tenkai palm and treat it like a card production like Josh suggested.
