    Theory 1-10?

This question was asked a while ago and somebody replied with a list of 10 'plots' of magic containing stuff like transformation, transposition etc. I googled ten theories of magic and nothing really came up except this list...

    Magic at the mall

To be honest I don't think this is a very good idea at all. While the employees may think the magic is great the manager will probably not share this point of view. Somebody could walk into the shop any time, if the manager sees the employee watching magic while there is a customer in the...

    d+M Dangerous Volume I Question

The effects use no gimmicks and can all be done with a regular deck, most of them need no setup. A couple of the effects have a very minor setup that could easily be done in front of your spectators.

    d+M Dangerous Volume I Question

This has been asked a thousand times, CHANGE is not currently available. It is most likely going to be released next year on a DVD full of colour changes. Both volumes of Dangerous are worth buying. There's some brilliant magic and flourishes on them.

    Making a Routine

It would help if you told us what effects you currently do and what situation you want to perform this routine in. (Street magic, Strolling, at a table etc) Here's a ten minute routine I sometimes do when I have a table. Dan and Dave's Collectors - (Quick and visual, gets everyones...

    Ulmen Trials

The Bucks and Brian Tudor do a completely different style of flourishing to De'vo. More importantly, they have better things to do than some BS challenge De'vo made up. The Ulmen trials are generally regarded as being a complete joke by most people outside of superhandz.com.

    Myths & Legends

It's an interesting story but to suggest Hitler's death is related to the loss of the spear is absolutley ridiculous. He killed himself because of the Allied forces were attacking on multiple fronts and claiming major German cities. Soviet forces had entered Berlin and were quickly claiming...

    Palming DVDs?

I'm fairly sure Allan Ackerman does have a DVD on palming. It's one in a series of about 8 DVD's containing stuff like False counts, Second and Bottom dealing, Shuffles and cuts etc.

    My first sandwich trick!

Believe is a good example, although it is perhaps too powerful to be an opener. Even something like the Shapeshifter change works, most people have never seen a Colour change before. To see one card suddenly change into another is quite a shock and lets them know you're worth watching.

    My first sandwich trick!

To suggest that somebody perform an effect within an hour of learning it is terrible advice. Going out and performing is how you perfect an effect, not how you learn it. The mechanics of the effect should be almost flawless before you perform it for a live audience. When you can do the...

    Street Magic

It looked like you were doing a good job with the magic but I didn't like the way it was filmed at all. It was too zoomed in and I don't like just being able to see your hands most of the time. Also, why have you got some weird Sepia effect on the videos. Everyone seems to have to do some weird...

    theory11 update : White Centurions + A Confession

I'm not that interested in White Centurions, i'll pick some up if they are properly released. I am very interested in the new 1 on 1's, it sounds like they've been listening to our feedback so there should be some good stuff in them.

Your reputation maker? Mine is Indecent.

For me it's Card to Mouth, this consistently gets an insane reaction. After that it's Here then There.

    1-on-1 Ideas

I would like to see a performance only DVD some time. They could show the performance with a voice over explaining what they're doing and giving tips etc.

    My first sandwich trick!

It's OK but it needs some work, it seemed really awkward when you kept saying 'are you sure you want this card'. It's OK to ask it once to misdirect the spectator for a couple of seconds, it just seems weird if you ask more than once. I could see you messing round with the cards at the back...

    I am kind of mediocre...

The Sybil feels quite difficult at first, just keep doing it and it will get easier. Don't worry about doing it quickly, just make sure it's smooth. If you want to get into XCM I would take a look at Xtreme Beginnerz by De'vo and Jerry Cestkowski. The Encyclopedia of Card flourishes by...

4 More on Floor or 5Speed

This isn't entirely true in my opinion. While presentation is incredibly important some tricks are simply better than others. Obviously a poor performer would get a worse reaction with 5 Speed than a good performer with 4 on the floor. Assuming that the performances are equal I think 5 Speed...

Alternative to the 4 for 4 Switch?

There's some great ideas in this thread, I particularly like the switch in New magic of Japan. This works to some extent, unfortunatley from some angles the 4 for 4 switch is very obvious. Even if you misdirected somebody the movement of the switch may cause them to look at the deck. This...

    1-on-1 Ideas

I would like to see some more Shifts from Aaron Fisher, perhaps his handling of the Classic pass. Maybe he could also teach his one handed popover move. I think the Gravity half pass should stay in The paper engine. Anything from Lee Asher, perhaps something new, I don't think Lee Asher...

4 More on Floor or 5Speed

They both have their advantages and disadvantages. I would say 5 Speed is slightly better as I think the sequence before you reveal the selection makes a bit more sense. There doesn't seem to be any motivation for turning the cards face up then face down then face up again before you reveal...
