The best for me have been The Art of Astonishment Vol 1-3 by Paul Harris. There is some incredible magic in them and they are also some of the most entertaining magic books you will ever read.

It's a nice effect, it's quite similar to Deja Vu by Dan and Dave. I think this version would make more sense to laymen as it only uses a single selection Your card handling looks pretty good but you need to work on covering getting breaks more, an observant spectator may see it.

There's many ways this could be done impromptu but none will look as clean as with a duplicate. You'd have to bring the card in their hand back to the deck first and do some sort of switch. It's impossible to achieve exactly the same effect impromptu.
