The question should be which is better Royal Road vs Card College Vol.1 as these 2 books cover most of the same stuff only CC is an updated version.

The 3 Card College books you are asking about teach tricks and routines that require no sleight of hand, where Royal Road is a beginners lesson in sleight of hand. So in all actuality the question you are asking is, which is better tricks that use no sleight of hand or tricks that use sleight of hand? The answer is both are very good. If I was just starting out in magic, to me, it would not be worth it to spend $90 - $100 on 3 books where you are not going to learn any sleight of hand where you can spend $10 on a book that is a serious stepping stone for beginners in magic.

The description for Light, Lighter and Lightest all say the book are designed for beginners and that may be true, but I think these books would be better for someone already proficient in sleight of hand. Again, this is just my opinion, but I think it would be a waste of time to learn self working tricks in your first year in magic instead of beginner sleight of hand.

A Land Down Under
If you are going to post a Product A vs. Product B thread please spend the time to state your own opinions on the products or why you are considering purchasing them. For example in the Watermark Liquify thread asks specifically for the differences eg. the gimmick and image quality. In the case of this thread state why you want to buy RRTCM and CC Light series addressing the concerns to you, initial impressions and anything else you feel is important. You should also address why you want either product, you address character and effects that don't fit. Why don't you discuss your character and what you perform currently.

A Land Down Under
No problem

In magic very rare can you say A is hands down better than B. Take two effects that came out around the same time in transit vs banded. Both effects are similar in the spectators eyes but one uses a rubber band the other uses a ring. So it comes down to personal preferance, ultimaley you should buy both if you like the effects because you will learn something from each source. An example question would before compair the methods obviously without exposing and asking about the quality of the gimmicks.
