For those of you who perform it, what do you use to break/ cut the thread?

Your hands, scissors, candle, etc?

and why?

Just kidding, I either break it with my hands or I use a candle.

hands, or sometimes get the audience involved and have them cut it with scissors or my pocket knife, lets them feel special plus they get a psychological reinforcement that the thread really is being broken/cut

i use the base of my left hand , but i don't like it , it 's akward
candle is great , but not practical for close up
i'll think about it, maybe you use your teeth, cut several pieces ,pretend to swallow one, do your gypsy thread, and then you do thread by wayne houchin

You can also use zippo lighter, or any type of lighter. Zippo lighter can act like a candle because it burns non stop. With regular lighter, you can get an audience member to help out and hold the lighter and light the thread.
