This sounds fun, I'd like to see what everyone comes up with.
And also now I'm thinking up a routine I could do with a cat and a pen...
Depends on the show I am doing;
Close up:
3 Pens (different colour)
2 Small Note pads
2 decks of cards (one stacked)
Palour / Stage (formal 45 minutes)
2 A4 sketch pads
3 sharpies (different colours)
2 Small not pads
Whatever cheap book I can find.
Mates Party (Close up / palour 15 - 20 minutes)
4 Sheets of a4 paper
2 different pens
And a book all borrowed.

I'd use the money to phone up Equity, and get them to ship me my act. 
If that is considered cheating, then I would buy 2 different colours decks of cards, and a pen. And use the change for magic also.

I'm lucky.
I'd pocket the ten, and do a hypnosis show...

If I were doing a close up show, I'd get what mostly everyone else would:
-2 decks
-sharpies
-post-it pad
-half dollars
then i'd be set for awhile.
I would get some matches, bottle of water, 2 cans of fizzy drink. And use the change coins in accordance to the effects.
instead of doing what everyone else does - buying cards sharpie, keep change, I'm going to leave this up to your imagination. 200 bendy straws, a pack of gum and a garden hose attachment. oh yeah.

One pad of paper
One red pen
One sharpie
One Ziploc bag
Whatever change is left
I might be over, if so I'd drop the red pen and pad of paper.
