Is Failure with this trick an option?

Okay thank you so much. I also appreciate the concern you guys have for me performing it. Thank you.

I'm not condoning you doing this. Just so it's said, I believe it's stupid to try a stunt like this with out being trained proper by someone who knows what they are doing. You're needlessly putting yourself at risk. I assume NO responsibility for your stupidity. My advice is supplied STRICTLY for educational purposes and is not intended to be used for recreation, or execution of the Human Blockhead stunt.

Hey Guys!

I perform this stunt regularly as part of my show. I hammer a nail into each nasal cavity because when I first used to perform this a few years ago I used 2 inch nails and I thought that now when I use 4 inch nails that I can still do it. I was wrong. I am unfortunately known around my area and to other acts I used to perform with as the guy that hammers 2 nails into his nose as apposed to the usual 1. When I hammer the second nail in, I have to be so careful because if I hammer too hard or not in the right direction, I've got a bit of a problem as apposed to the first nail which just slides in now. I cannot fit in a normal 6 inch nail, I have to use masonry nails if I want to perform with one of those.

This is part of my act and I have taken it upon myself to take every precaution whenever I perform this, and I would suggest that anyone that does want to learn it to learn from someone who is a professional. I didn't at the time and didn't realise the risks I was going to performing this when i first learnt it from a Derek Lever book I received from the Blackpool Convention. I realise now that I was a bit stupid, but luckily for me nothing went seriously wrong.

I am currently teaching someone the stunt in person and taking it very slowly with them every step. As I perform this professionally and regularly I take every precaution, and I am very happy to teach them as long as they listen to everything I say and do nothing totally stupid. And of course I am there at all times to stop any stupidness till they are confident with the stunt.

I know I went about learning this stunt in Guerilla fashion, but I believe that although I learnt from my mistakes as apposed to from someone else, I perform this as well as anyone else, and it is what people want to take pictures of me for.

I do not in any way condone shoving anything into your nose, I mean, as a child I shoved a peanut up my nose and had to go into hospital to get it out, but those are my thoughts on the blockhead and I hope I've added something to the conversation.

I totally understand and thank you for your concern. Also thank you for telling me how to clean the props.

I feel like I'm in the same boat. I pretty much figured it out on my own and luckly my aunt is a nurse so I figured out what was going on. However, I was never taught how to clean it properly until Draven just recently told me.

Another thing is to buy those single use alcohol wipes from a pharmacy. Just prior to performance give it a quick once over it is advised to throughly clean between performances.
