In my European History class we get to pick any topic for a research paper. I decided on researching magicians. Does anyone know of any books or sources dealing with the history of magic, more specifically European magicians in the 19th and 20th century?

There are loads out there. Do a search on amazon or something like that. I can personally recommend 'Hiding The Elephant' by Jim Steinmeyer. A great read that covers the golden era of illusion. There is also quite a bit of history stuff in David Blaine's book.
