I dunno man, one of the reasons I got into magic was I used to sit there and wonder how the hell does he do that, and I continued wondering that until I figured out my first trick.

That's an interesting beginning in magic. I would say though... that that's a certain type of mind that you have that makes you think that way and look, now you're a magician. Most laymen don't wind up like that.

Most conversations lay people have about magic tricks are....."how the hell did he do that?"

I think, for the most part, that's actually a rhetorical question when they scream it at each other. But again, I say if they've seen good magic then they won't ask it in earnest, 'cause magic is the 'how'; if that makes sense.

Though I'd also argue that lay people don't often have conversations about magic tricks anyway
