These are good reads!
And don't stick only to the first post but really read every post, there are massive amounts of contributions from many of our fine Mentalists on this board. Also there are a lot of books and other resources listed there.

PS1 was the first book and rather talks about the psychological aspects of mentalism and real psychological forces, techniques and so. PS2 and PS3 are more effect based books. Although containing a lot of good ideas, techniques and everything else you need as a mentalist. Although, i can't say that i reccomend this to a beginner. These books are good resources but Corinda's 13 Steps to Mentalism and Annemanns books should be read and understood before attempting to go any further.

Agreed with D ICE R's advice; however, PS1 will indeed be reprinted early next year, AsherF is right. Also, the PS series do not have to be read sequentially, but it wouldn't hurt. Every now and again there's a small reference to something in a previous book.
