What do you think of balloon swallowing?

I love this illusion but i can only do it when making balloon animals at partys.
the down side is that i usually do kids partys, and i dont think that this is something that little children should see, considering that they might actually try to swallow a balloon later.

I love the effect but here are the two scenarios you normally get or I should say I have gotten.

You do the effect for adults and you always have the teens or guys in their 20's laughing because of the visual (shouldn't have to say more)
and you get harassed.

You do the effect for a kids show and it only takes one kid to go home and choke to death and you are going to be in for a lawsuit....I don't care how many times you tell the kids, "Don't try this at home." IT WILL HAPPEN.

I no longer do the effect.

I actually just taught my Gf this trick. all the guys are jealous now.
but i do agree with rever to a point. you can always use the jokes to increase your performance. cause they are the ones with the sick mind. if you can associate it with sword swalloing.
David stone did a version on tv. it was funny. try to find it. i belive it was on netherland tv or something like that.

Good points Chris, I want to see the David Stone performance if you can find it.

I guess I am more concerned with family style shows and kids shows....this effect isn't that appropriate and is a bit dangerous to have kids see.

for one second I thought you were Taylor Laurent from "Twilight" hahaha you look a little like him

I have never tried ballon swallowing and I think I would like to try it, because I have some shows in the upcomming months and it looks good for stand-up magic...

I would really like to know where I can learn this illusion, can anybody tell me?

I've seen this bit done by Ed Alanzo (which I think is funny as hell) and more common during sideshow acts.

I personally don't think this effect really should be done by a guy. Unless you are performing in a gay bar, you lose a LOT of punch this effect can deliver. Or unless your Ed Alanzo. But I digress.

Since you can obviously see the kind of visual I'm talking about that this effect invokes, the most successful performances I've seen has come from a good looking female.

That's just me though.
