I prefer "Cat in the Hat" as opposed to Green Eggs and Ham, but whatever floats your boat.

Magic-wise, you'd be hard pressed to beat Jennings '67, in my opinion.

Funny you mentioned it since 'Strong Magic' (and 'Designing Miracles') is the only book about magic I couldn´t take down. Quite different from my normal reading behaviour. Normally I fall asleep after two or three chapters
