Hey everyone,
I'm starting to pick up flourishing. I love how it looks and would like to integrate cardistry into my magic act, for false cuts or even just shuffles. There's only one problem:
I suck.
I seem to have no good hand placement - that is what she said - and packets easily slip off my fingertips. I know all the basic cuts - Charlier, Revolution, scissor, etc. - and even some two-handed moves such as the Elevator Cut and the false double undercut taught by Joel Paschall. The Werm is probably the pinnacle of my cardistry. So I'm quite the beginner.
I love displays/two-handed cuts and was wondering a couple things.
1) What flourishes work best with magic and why?
2) What flourishes would you recommend to a person of my skill level?
I've taken a look at Genesis but it seems too rudimentary. I'm looking for something slightly beyond the basics, as I think I have basic cardistry down. Thanks for taking time to read. All suggestions are welcome.
