This review is for a first look at White Centurions. In a few weeks, when the deck has had a good amount of use, I will update this review with more up-to-date info...if it changes. I'm sure as I get used the how the deck handles, what I have to say on it will drastically change, but I highly doubt what I have to say will go down.

Got my White Cents in the mail today and opened it with a LOT of enthusiasm. I've been debating on whether I wanted to open and use the deck or see if the value goes up and sell it. However, being someone who believes a deck is made to be used...I'm sure you know which I picked.

First thing I noticed is the amazing art. The pics online don't really do it justice. In fact, most people I've shown them to say the black Cents look better than white online, and in person it's the other way around. In other words, check the deck out before making judgments on the looks! I personally still like how the Guardians look better, but that's because I love the art with the angels.

How the decks handle? One word. Wow.
To elaborate, until opening this deck, Shadow Masters, to me handled the best. I have NEVER had a deck that fanned as well as the White Cents. In fact, this is the only deck I can regularly open a completely even fan. Seriously. The ONLY one. As in there aren't any others. Yes I know I can't with others on a regular basis because of skill, but being able to EVERY time with this deck is saying a lot. Just think for a sec and you'll understand. Granted, with other decks, the cards still come close to even on most fans, but not like this deck.

edit: There is a good chance that how they handle is merely because the deck just isn't broken in yet. So, until my update, I'm not gonna say that this deck absolutely handles better than others. I'm also not saying the deck makes me a better fanner, I'm just saying they are easier to fan because of how they handle.

I've also noticed, regardless of what I do, they glide across each other better than any other deck I've had before. Because of this, MOST things I do got easier, but closing the fans with one hand got hard. Over all, this is a plus, as only one thing went down and everything else went up.

Most of you know that the deck comes with a double backed card. The only thing is one back is a White Cent back and the the side is a regular Cent back. Will it be useful? I'm sure it can be for some people, but as of now, I don't have any use for double backed cards in anything, regardless of the 2 sides being the same or not. I still keep it. I still like it. I just don't use it.

The box it came in was pretty much a blank white box with a window in it...like casino deck boxes without anything on it but a seal. For the most part, it doesn't really matter, but whenever I put the deck back into the box, the plastic over the window folds down. Because of this I keep the ad card in the box (with the T11 logo showing through the window) and slide the deck in behind that card. That is really the only problem I have with the box. I do prefer art, but it's not important.

Final thoughts...
Where handling is concerned, White Cents are my new favorite deck, though for looks, I still like Guardians more. Though the White Cents are up there at the top. I'd definitely recommend trying to buy some at the next release window. And if the deck ever has a regular, non-limited release, I'm definitely stocking up on these (along with Guardians)

Good review. I didn't like the part about the fanning, that's just b*******. The cards don't make you a better flourisher (fanner) it's about skill -_-

P.S. I hate to break it to ya, but from what I'm reading in your post... You got some skill..
-very sorry

Very True, plus the stock is the exact same as the Black Centurions

As it stands, there are less than 1,100 white Centurions in existence. The deck is the same as the original, only with an inverted more elegant appeal. The case presents a striking metaphor... a blank canvas with nothing more than a window to peer inside.

I never said the deck made me a better flourisher. I said I can do some of the flourishes easier because of how the deck handles. Stock/finish.

Haha, I'll take that as a compliment. :p

I don't have black Cents so I can't compare them, but I'm sure they still handle slightly different because the black Cents have a lot more ink on the back. That however is an assumption based off of using other cards where the amount of ink was the only difference.

The fact that you can fan better well them is most likely a mental thing. If you've seen 'Blue Eyes Brown Eyes' you'll know how liking something can effect the way you use it.

I completely understand how liking something affects how you use it. In fact I tell that to people all the time when they are trying to decide on a new trick. However, I know it's not based on how much I like it, as I still like Guardians a LOT more. I seriously thought the handling was mostly hype...until I tried them.

On a side note, regarding liking the deck, I tend to pick my deck based on how they look. However, they do still have to handle well.

You should also post a video of your completely even fans using this deck.
