Hi guys!!! here is Oficially My second thread!!! this time I would like to talk about some new effects on other sites, and I would like to talk a little about one( or more) effects that personally I think is a little sensitive concerning spectators....

RELIGION

I, am catholic, but that is not the point about this thread, the point of this thread is the effect called "wounded"... You have seen it right??? the one where you "aparently" make appear stigmas on your hands, and later on you "cry" blood, at least that is what I saw from the demo.

All of us know (and those that believe in that) that Jesus was crucified, and that later on he showed scars on both hands and feet, therefore when these marks appear on someone they are called stigmas...

I don't want to start a debate here about religion, that is not my point, what I want to discuss here is about using these tricks on people, I mean, if you go to someone young with it, they can find it amazing, but (in my case) if I show this to my mom, well, magic would be forbidden for me for a long time...

waht do you guys think of this trick???I can change stigmata storyline for something not as "bizarre" as original intended(My mom was preatty freaked out when I showed her that trick) but with wounded is a different story... what do you think??Wich other sotryline could you give it besides stigmas??

Thank you very much for your time reading this...=D

Go Catholics! Anyways- I think this effect is cool, but it's pushing it a little. I probably wouldn't perform it for people... just to be on the safe side. Especially not older people.

You little stalker!
I've never heard of Wounded before, but from you guys' description, it sounds like a bad trick in my opinion. I mean, a trick where you make blood come out of your body is just pushing it too much. The point of magic is to entertain the audience, not to freak them out or give them a heart attack. Same thing goes with Control. No offense to Wayne, but control is also pushing the limits a bit. Most of the time they will freak out and think ur dead. Anyways, thats just my opinion.

In my opinion , This kind magic just can show to youth , & to someone really want to see "special effect".

Dont be show it anyway , if not , maybe get big trouble!

Yeah but what would happen if you were performing it to Athiests or other people who has other religious beliefs?

In my opinion, having a big subject such as religion that gives much arguments is not a good idea.

My place!
i have always been interested in stigmatas (im not religious) but stigmata means the wounds of Christ, often reffer to the nails in his hands before his crucification. A lot of saints have had stigmatas and been famous for it, stigmatas in that sense are a religious miracle. Some stigmatas have been faked by people with mental problems who need attention.

wounded is where your hand starts to bleed and a wound slowly appears on your hand, and you bleed from your eyes. its the total scare the audience out of there wits trick. It is not ment for the old, or young, and NOT your mum.

check it out here http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4ovsFUm20Cc

Only use in sitiuations with people who like being scared, or straight after watching the movie ALIEN, hey that might be a good story line.

Man, Leaving Religion apart, If you sudenly apeared Bloddy scars on your hands, and then started to cry blood, that would freak them out, scared them... do you think they are going to amaze? freak and amaze are two different things, and another thing, I like to be remembered as someone kind, that gave a nice and awesome routine were magic was all around, not someone that freaked them and that probably scared them everytime someone came near...I mean I am going to accept it, It does looks nice, but It just dont fits My presentation and my belief in magic...

ok, I watched the trick, and I just dont understand why anyone would want to perform that. It crosses the line from magic to just creepy.
Like the woman in the youtube video said "Thats cool, but just... yeah"
It just seems to set up to much of an awkward setting between you and your spectator.

magic should be fun and entertaining, not weird and creepy.

To touch on and off subject regarding tricks such as Wounded, Stigmata etc...

Such tricks are more than tricks, you could easily have problems performing these tricks (I have problems watching Wounded be done). Whether it be religous reason or not these tricks are %$#^ing creepy and must be done with care. You would not go performing these frequently and you would have to present them to people you sure will respond to it right (don't go bleeding your eyes to random people!) and present it calmly...don't dramatize it too much or at all otherwise this is an episode of <insert freaky show here> to them (but in the worst of ways).

I've heard some people say they had problems performing these (one person said someone tried to choke the demons out of him after Stigmata...whether this be true or not I wouldn't doubt such an extreme reaction occuring).

So yes such tricks can create problems.

See, stigmata doesnt seem so dramatic and creepy, at least the card version. Especially if you throw out banter that makes them feel like they're "sending the card" through their hand.
But I do agree, you cant go showing to to the wrong people.

yep, You said it john, HE IS DAVID BLAINE, I mean, people are already aware that he can do "supernatural"things per see, so if they see something like that, they know its magic... But if they see a stranger running across the street yelling"look my eyes are bleeding!!!!!Isnt'That a good trick???"ammm I dont think they are goign to be..ejem.amazed....

Cheers!!
