Brian Tudor Is The Man

Meh. Brian Tudor's really talented and comes up with some great stuff but I hesitate from buying from him...cause...well...he just seems like a bit of a cocky guy. He always rushes through teaching and he's frequently disrespectful to other magicians.

since those past releases.
i can see where that would be a problem, but for me personally that doesnt bother me.
I don't think Brian 's "the man"... Sure he's quick and it's stunning how he controles a deck... but in my opnion he lacks a certain kind of smoothness and care for the cards he is handeling... I wonder wether a deck of his last longer than a day..
Probably because so many magicians talk smack about him and criticize him for his poor teaching and him taking criticism badly. People say he's also a really bad performer.
I like Tudor and all that he's done for flourishing and I truly admire how technically proficient he is with cards. I enjoy watching what he does, but not learning from him because I don't agree with his views on magic and performance. And he's a bad teacher.

, kidding.Personally speaking, Generation extreme was my first dvd and I dont regret, it took his time but I actually learned a lot.

He's not really that talented. He tries too hard to come up with many ways to "fool" or "Out smart" hecklers. Which just goes to show how often he probably does get heckled. Also I find his attitude and style just stupid.
are you serious? he doesn't try too hard. he released a magic dvd called "heckler", which, unless you looked really deeply into the psychology behind the tricks, wasn't really about outsmarting your hecklers, it was just more tricks and sleights. he is pretty practiced. the only thing that sucked was the video/sound quality.
and have you seen any of his flourishing videos? the man's hands are demonically fast. it's scary.
oh, and he came up with "bad habit".
Because a very small percentage of people actually like learning from him probably. And even then some people who like his work say its bad.
If your gonna teach,you HAVE to do it right. If he cant explain it in words,there are plenty of other teaching methods that are perfectly suitable.There is no excuse.
Also,he's an a$$hole. I dont find it suprising that any production company doesnt want to work with him.
Businesses like this,you have to make friends or your Sh!t out of luck.
Yeah I heard his teaching is just god awful. Which is a bit sad, because if you want people to learn your stuff, you have to put some effort into it. Hell it shouldn't even be THAT hard to properly explain how to do something.
I don't know anything neat or cool about somebody trying to flourishes at hyper speed. I always believed that if you are into flourishing, then you do it so other people can appreciate it. How can people appreciate something if you are going to fast for them to enjoy it?

that's just displaying a lack of understanding of flourishing. his flourishes are designed to be done at top speed. If you do a "what the hell happened to sybil" at top speed as opposed to slowed down to make it "smooth", it looks better.
There are, of course flourishes that demand a slower performance to look better, for example pandora, you need the pauses for it's displays, and i think the first phase should be done smoothly rather than quickly, but that's dan and dave buck's style, not tudor's.
Any of Tudor's flourishes look so much better done at top speed, rather than "smoothly", it's his style.
and as for his teaching? If you can't learn the moves from his DVDs, your not experienced enough in flourishing to learn from them. You need a solid flourishing foundation to be able to learn his stuff. you shouldn't need to be shown how to do a revolution cut 5 times from 5 different angles, then "ONE MORE TIME", it's assumed you can do all that.
