Is it instant?

Both are terrible, but I voted for the one on the left 'cause at least I could see it. To be constructive, the methods for either were rather unintuitive and probably wouldn't work for spectators.

Could your nine have been signed?

Like, do you have to take it out of the place where the item is found, or is it already there when the spectator looks for it? Does it have to be in the immediate area, or a stone's throw away, or is across the city okay? Things like that.

What are the limitations? I don't want to know the method; I just want to know exactly what I will be able to do with this.

It might be a good idea for an encore, since then your audience would already be fully convinced of your mad mouth-to-eye skills.

Well, I think any magician (or heckler, as was said) can see how this is done. It's one of those moves that has become common knowledge.

If you are interested in Shifty and other tricks that Chris has put out as 1-on-1's (like the incredible 5 speed), I really recommend that you invest in the whole book (Totally Out of Control) rather than the individual tricks; you get much better value.
