    Trilogy skill level

In the scheme of cardistry, how difficult are the flourishes on the Trilogy? I know it varies from flourish to flourish, but any general idea would be helpful. Also, the same judgment about the relative difficulty of their tricks would be great. Thanks.

    What products to get?

I had the exact same problem when I got into card magic. A lot of different people recommended a lot of different things, and I simply had trouble believing any of them. Here I'm going to simply familiarize you with the system and where to look for what you want. First off, the world of cards...

    Media Section Video Problems

Most of the times that I try to play videos in the media section, they don't play. (I've tried looking at them in both Internet Explorer and Firefox.) I click the video once to start loading it, but no video length is shown; I see 0:00/0:00. If I click it again, no video plays. Any help with this?

    Second Thoughts

Yeah, I've spent a good amount of time w/ Flourishes 101; I suppose that counts. It's just that I'm not familiar with some things people refer to as basic knowledge like the hindu shuffle and various cutting techniques. Thanks for the help.

Thanks! What are the different options as far as beginner stuff? Why do you recommend the encyclopedia?

    Magic For Real World Problems

Card throwing is good for short distances, but far enough that they can't interfere with your throw. And those things really do hurt, especially if you throw gift cards or holographic Pokemon cards. My friends and I have actually had card battles with those things; blood poured (literally)...

    Dale Carnegie is my hero.

Ok, so in search for how to break through people's defensives when doing magic I looked many places. I've searched on here, started a thread on Talk Magic, and have even gotten a whole book (Win the Crowd, which I didn't particularly care for). None of these sources outlined what causes people...

Death to the Double Undercut :: Review

I think the basic idea that Squ!rrel and others are espousing here is that because the components of Death to the Double Undercut are public domain Theory11 doesn't have the right to sell the moves, as if Joel came up with the moves himself. However, it is not the idea that you are paying $5...

    Angle Zero = Stage Effect?

I know some churches are like this, but I don't think all are (I know mine isn't). I actually considered doing control as a stage effect, and my pastor was fine with it (though serious about me not hurting myself).

    Triple Trilogy challenge

You are challenged. Anyone else interested? Here are the final rules: "Use three tricks from Dan and Dave Bucks' Trilogy in a smooth routine. All material you use must be available on those three DVD's, though you can change things slightly to suit the routine. Patter must be done as audible...

    Finally purchasing TOOC

My magic shop is pretty small so I dont think that it would stock it. I looked at Penguin but I think Im going to go with the place I found. Thanks for the help.

    Finally purchasing TOOC

Are they out of print or something? I found one at "The Trick Shop" for $44 including shipping. Good?

Where do I buy it from? Any cheap/used copies that you know of? Thanks.

Death to the Double Undercut // 1-on-1

There have been many good points made so far, and a few posters are saying them at least half eloquently without attempting to insult anyone. I appreciate those people. Essentially, it seems like the basic argument against this 1-on-1 is that it is basic, unoriginal material sold for the same...

    The spectrum of cards

Yeah, I'm pretty fine with the Bicycles; I'm just thinking that there isn't any reason to struggle with certain inadequacies of the cards if I could get better ones for just a little more $. So Tally ho's would be a good value and quality compared to Bicycles? Are there any other mid-range decks...

    Caught performing a sleight...

As said, there are some things you can get out of such a problem. (Like saying "ah you got me!" then using an alternate sleight.) If you think the trick would not be critically impaired because of the insight your spectator got into the method you can just plow on ahead. However, if they really...

    The spectrum of cards

Ok, I admit, I use Bicycles; always have and... hope I won't always will. I hear much talk of other card types and their superior aspects and see many different types in videos, and am interested in branching out and getting some new kinds. The magic store guy in Chattanooga said that if you're...

    Underground coin magic

I know there are a few things (I'm probably going to finally get out my wallet and pay for TOOC tonight); I'm just curious why the main emphasis so far has been on cards. Thanks for the tip, though.
