    Practice Theory.

Anyone can practice, it's the quality of practice that sets you apart over time. That's what I get from this and that's what I believe to be true.

    Everyday carries

Nothing. ...kinda my wallet is a card to wallet wallet. I also carry lock picks in my wallet cause I'm cool like that. Sometimes I'll wear an extra ring and my backpack or car always has a deck of cards. Sometimes I'll put a coin in my pocket or a rubber band around my wrist. When asked to do...

    Books on rope magic

Don't worry about it. It's more fun to talk about it all than to dig up old threads. When I think of Rope magic I think of Pavel. Look him up. I'm not sure if he wrote any books

    Purse Palm Subtlity

Purse Palm seems pretty flat to me. I'm not a huge fan either but I once saw David Williamson perform with it and it blew me away .

    Invisible top shot

Yes, he uses the top shot as a color change and teaches it in a few places. I've seen it used as a sandwich load and Simon Black uses a top shot like move to make a card appear in the participants hand.

    Cups and Balls

I created my own in high school. I don't perform it anymore. I used small ceramic pots and my loads were golf balls. I wedged the golf balls into the cups and they say there the whole routine till I wanted to reveal them.

    New and Need Help/Guidance

2 common problems. Wrong cards, wrong surface. You need to purchase a deck with an air cushion finish and it needs to be in good shape, or even new. Old and cheap cards clump, even pros can't spread em right. The surface needs to be soft, not hard or slick. Carpet, a sofa, a bed or table...

    Trick idea

If you use classic magicians choice you can do any card. Max Maven, Banachek, Mark Eldson and David Berglas all have approaches to the classic method. It's popular to force a face card (Josh Jay, Blake Vogt, Chris Ramsay etc.) because it narrows your options very quickly. Personally, I use Jim...

How to create great magic tricks?

I can give examples of what other people have done. In Royal Road to Card Magic the Ambitious Card is explained as a trick where the whole deck becomes the selected card (kinda like an ungimmicked Svengali Deck). If you went the opposite direction you could make the card vanish from the deck...

Thoughts on Madison’s Kill The Architect...

Yeah, I have owned a bunch of Madison's products. Some are decent some aren't great. I've used Angle Zero for years and I've performed a lot of his other stuff. He's got creativity and skill that's for sure but even then it's not always my cup of tea. He's not all that entertaining in my...

    Remarkable by Richard Sanders

Yeah, it depends on what set you get. If you are only doing one revelation don't get the Saunders effect, just go with a single Sharpie. The great part about the Saunders effect is that you can do multiples. If you don't plan on doing multiple reveals save your money and just get one.

How to create great magic tricks?

Here's how you do it. Step One: Learn everything Step Two: Remix Step Three: Follow through That's it. A good portion of my current job consists of me creating magic on the spot for myself, other magicians, corporate clients and other performers. That's my process. If I get stuck, I...

Thoughts on Madison’s Kill The Architect...

I've never been a fan of Daniel Madison or his products. He's probably a decent human being but the drama that follows him around puts a bad taste in my mouth. I'm sure if we ever met we'd have a good time, he seems like a decent human being. That said, this seems like some more over dramatic...
