    Intermediate Card Magic

So many great responses to this thread. Haha, I think you nailed it for many magicians here and probably for this kid as well.

    Is there a "name deal"?

I think I'd use an index, one of Daniel Madison's would work great. Also, you could do a Muck or the Mexican Turnover to switch it in.

    Making magic emotional

You don't need music to add emotion. The key is honestly. Avoid irony and cliches. Make it personal and be careful about who you select.

    COIN MAGIC?

Almost everything you need for this is in Bobo's. Garrett Thomas also adds a bit with Imagination Coins and David Stone teaches part of this as well.

Cardini change:- I question its efficiency!

The Cardin I change is better with angles than the snap change, it's a bit harder to perfect though. Mine is smooth and works in the real world but I don't use it in the real world all too often. Cardini invented it at a time when there wasn't ready access to cameras, he created it for live...

    Are breather crimps permanent

How do you remove one? Most of the time they are pretty permanent in my experience. I'd love to have information on removing them :)

    Best wrong explanation you've heard?

With this video, someone thought my budy climbed into rafters. Yeah, I don't think he could touch the ceiling if he jumped. There was also the theory that he walked out the door you can see in frame. This is actually just a spare door that is leaning up against the wall haha...

    Intermediate Card Magic

Dai Vernon is referred to as an amateur. Of course this doesn't mean he was a beginner. He was undeniable an expert at card magic. I think most would say that amateur, semi-professional, and professional is a financial reflection, not knowledge based. I assume by amateur, you mean a beginner. To...

    Intermediate Card Magic

I got another email from a young magician claiming to be an intermediate card guy. He was nowhere near intermediate in my view, yet he was trying to convince me he was on the advanced side of intermediate. My question to you is, "At what point do you graduate from a beginner to intermediate?"...

    Mentalism

A really simple place to start is with Jay Sankey's dvd's. He has quite a lot of mental material. My favorite collection of his is Hemispheres, 21 Blows to the Head is also good. I consider his stuff a good primer. It's all practical and not crazy hardcore.

Yigal mesika tarantula and pen pro

If I break the IT with a loop I can pull another one off my wrist and try again. If I break IT with a reel, there's a longer reset, even with a very user friendly reel. Personally, I avoid technology. It over complicates my act. I start to get paranoid. Is the device charged? Is it reset? Is is...

Yigal mesika tarantula and pen pro

If you are worried about loops snapping ITRs (Spider Pen and Tarantula) are probably worse. There are mechanics involved that make it hard to fix things when they snap. Also, pay attention to the methods you are using. Some tricks are harder on the loops than others. I'd either change the...

Uses for an ITR besides levitation?

Lior Suchard was the originator of this method for PK touches. He published it in a book for Yigal Mesika and it is now available on Penguin as a solo download. Daniel Garcia has a treatment in the Guerrilla Guide to Loops. Morgan Strebbler has a few treatments in his DVD set Touched.

    Coins for coin magic

I think 50 cent pieces are great for most effects and adult hands. I have started using full size dollars and am finding that they are much easier to work with. Don't go any smaller than a quarter.

Uses for an ITR besides levitation?

I think the best uses of IT is for anything besides levitation. Tyler brings up PK touches. Morgan Strebbler has a bunch of PK touches that use ITRs. Animations are related in some ways to levitation but they are much more subtle. To have an object move across a table or under a glass can be...

    Hypocrisy?

There is a level of trust in a creator. When I worked with Penguin to release my DVD Electro everything was produced by Penguin. They marketed it, they filmed it, and they edited it. When it came to doing research they expected that I had done it. They (Shaun Dunn and Mandy Hartley) looked at...

    Hypocrisy?

Hugard and Braue were notorious rip off artists. Enough time has passed that what they did had lost its drama. Then again, some tricks are old enough that we don't know who created them. Some tricks or moves are old enough that we can't ask permission to publish it. If I want to publish Dai...

    Hypocrisy?

It doesn't suck for Scarne. He profited a ton from his creations while he was alive. He released a ton of magic to the public and magicians. He was one of the first great promoters of magic secrets. Don't get me wrong there are thieves out there and rip off magicians but Houchin doesn’t fit...
