    Wynns

My brown deck from the first release is still alive and kicking. I still have 6 browns to go and none of them are bent at all. They fanned pretty good out of the box but that went away after a couple of weeks of use. I kind of like the art of the cards but to each his own. Sorry some of you are...

    Wynns lasting longer?

Keep them in a dry place when you're not using them. Make sure your hands are clean when you are using them. If you're going to do a ribbon spread or table work make sure the surface is clean. Just pretty much use common sense. Cheers! p.s. remember in the end they're just cards.

    Black Ghost 2nd Edition Decks

Other than the joker design, the Ace of Spades and the gaff it's just another black deck from ellusionist. I prefer the look of the Shadow Master decks and they're a buck cheaper. I don't know about anyone else but I find the audience is a little more impressed when more color is involved. I...

How Good are Daniel Madison's Products?

I only own TWO but I love it. His effects are hard hitting and the methods are bold. Learning his stuff really helped boost my performance confidence when I found I could pull it off! Cheers!

    Best magic investment

Mark Wilson's Complete Course was my first book like so many others out there. But I think my best "investment" was the Trilogy as it cost the most and was the reason I got back into magic. It not only teaches card routines but the sleights used in them. It teaches practice, technique...

"Any Rule In Any Art Can Be Broken."

True that any rule in any art can be broken but that doesn't mean the outcome will be good. That's where the risk is. It might be brilliant but it might be crap as well ;) The best part about his routine is that in "showing" people how it's done he's actually leading them further away. -Cheers!

    Which Coins Do You Use?

Kennedy's But i was at a flea market and found some cool old Chinese coins from the 1940's. There are usually some cool looking coins to be found in flea markets and antique stores. Cheers!

    Magic Video // theory11 music

I'm pretty sure he's not trading effects. He just put up some videos of him doing tricks. With really nice handling I might add. Put together a routine, go out to a bar or crouded square, bring your camera with you. Even if you mess up keep rolling. That's the kind of stuff people need to...

    Penn and Teller - Why?

First of all great thread. At first glance a lot of people misunderstand and underestimate these two amazing performers. The reason I love Penn and Teller is that they are constantly creating and refining magic. True they do expose the methods behind a lot of their tricks but it is their...

Loops - Where to get them?

Penguin has the best prices for loops or thread in general that I've found. Here is the catch. If you order Yigal Mesika loops (which i would highly recomend because of the quality) you only get a package of 5 for around $8. You can also buy a spool of 100 ft of Yigal Mesika thread for around...

Ideas for the use of the T11 double-backed gaff

Hugard arranged a book called "The Encyclopedia of Card Tricks". There is a whole chapter in there dedicated to double-back card tricks. You can get it here: http://store.doverpublications.com/by-subject-magic--legerdemain.html. It's mostly full of really old easy tricks but I've found that they...

    The trouble with webcams

I'm with you on your second post and most of your first Aos. That's why I want to see vidoes of people doing tricks for real people, on the street, at a gig, but out of their bedrooms and backyards. Heck, put up a video where you messed up in front of people and got out of it. People can at...

    The trouble with webcams

In another thread several people were stating that the magic videos in the media section are borring. My response to that is... well they kind of are. Magic is an interactive form of entertainment where as flourishing is more spectacle. When you perform a trick in front of a camera you lose the...

    More Flourishing than Ever?

Penguin magic is a great online store but that doesn't meant that's the only place I go. This is my favorite magic site but penguin has great prices and many more effects for sale. Now granted not all of the effects are great. In fact a great many of them are crap. However the good ones they...

    More Flourishing than Ever?

Flourishing actually kind of got me interested in magic again. I was never much into cards when I was younger and just doing gimmicks (like stuff you can buy at penguin). I had my trusty hotrod, scotch and soda, reality twister, silks, and so on but I got a little bored with them and hated...
