    Magic Books

I defer to reality one for the essentials. I'll just cover some of my current favorites. The Show Doctor by Jeff Mcbride - If you are trying to make a show you should read this book. He goes through what to perform, finding a character, and some of the pitfalls in professional magic careers...

The Expert at the card table.

It looks good to me. There's a lot out there. It looks like this is has an added index which would be really convenient

    Card production

What do you want your audience to see? It seems like you are looking for something more specific but I need to know what you want. So far I have that: -You want to produce a deck of cards -You don't want to use gimmicks - You want a free tutorial Is this correct? If it is, it limits what you...

    Red Pill Chris Ramsay

I don't think it's all that useful, at least not for the venues I perform for. The trailer is a little misleading. They had to edit out some pretty heavy sleight of hand so they didn't tip the method. The sleight of hand required works well for Chris. He's a bold and talented guy. These...

    Copper and Silver

he strongest routines that I know with this gimmick involve a switch at some point. This allows the participant to examine both coins and get rid of the suspicion of a double sided coin. I'm curious what does your routine look like in the eyes of the audience? The classic routine I know with a...

    About odyssey and red pill.

In my opinion it depends on why you are buying it. If I buy it without the intention of performing it then I can't think of a reason why I would buy it. This is a personal thing though. If you are curious to see how it works and want to buy it just for the secret in my experience this usually...

Your Favorite Way to Control a Card to the Top

The Blind Square is my favorite control. It is slow and deliberate and really hard to follow. https://www.vanishingincmagic.com/magic-downloads/card-magic-downloads/blind-square/ There are some angles to be considered but for a small group of magicians or laymen it is my go to. I mess with...

    About odyssey and red pill.

So with Red Pill you have some hefty sleight of hand to do. It's not selfworking or even that easy to perform. A new gimmick has to be made every time as well. It's one of those weird tricks which are marketed as closers but only makes sense to perform as an opener. So, you can't perform any...

Yep, that one's awesome! I was trying to think of this but forgot the name of the trick. Thanks for posting!

    Red Pill Chris Ramsay

I was recently at an audition for a booking agency where a few magicians were performing. I let one borrow a dollar for a routine. He destroyed it. It was torn, signed and ended up in a lemon. He gave it back to me and all I could think was that this was a piece of garbage. Over and over...

    Sooo suckn at cardistry

The best place to start in my opinion is with Zach Mueller's tutorials. With any new piece you need to really take your time at the beginning.

    Card production

Sudden Deck 1, 2 and 3 by David Regal are all good. Empty by Marcus Eddie is popular but it is a smaller effect. Alumin by Mathieu Bich requires a table Loaded by Marcus Eddie is nice as well

Got BoBo's Book, Magic DVD's (Royal Road), and KILLER Marked Cards!

Haha, yeah that's probably it. I'm not sure if I'd get another trick with a gaffed deck at this point. Here's a handful of tricks from Bobo performed by the author.

Got BoBo's Book, Magic DVD's (Royal Road), and KILLER Marked Cards!

Are you talking about Danny Garcia's card through window called Chaos? There are a few out there with that name. If you are looking for a killer trick that you can do focus on the invisible deck. It is killer and will leave your crowd speechless. It is one of the all time best things that I do...

    "Behind the back" card trick

I think the trick you describe is found in the Encyclopedia of Card Tricks by Jean Hugard. It's called the magic Thrust by Anneman.

    "Behind the back" card trick

All of these are great ideas. You can learn Election in Eric's At the Table Lecture. Really the ancestor of Eric's trick is an effect by Dan Paulus. I don't think it is available anymore. Dan only used one deck. An impromptu version of this trick that I love in found in the Encyclopedia of...

    Mental card force help

So we can't give actual secrets but I can tell you where to find some. The first would be the PATEO force. It may be better to do this face down but it will work face up as well. It is explained in Joshua Jay's Amazing Book of Magic. There is a magicians force or equivoque. The most direct...

Business Cards- Out To Lunch Ideas!?

Jay Sankey has the most applications I know of. Signatures transpose, participants forget stuff and so on. Jeff Stone offers a couple touches on Jays stuff and adds the ability to make a spectator unknowingly speak in tongues. His handling is worth checking out in his book 793.8

    Alchemy

I have a performance here on video. It definitley goes with certain armour and not others. All I can say is to experiment with what works. Try everything you own and when you buy new cloaks and robes keep the trick in mind.
