What magic books should I get? (Beginner)

If you pick up Card College (recommended) you don't need the other card books.

Coin gimmicks make me so frustrated.

I'm thinking of going shaved, they should be much easier to handle and I could use the help. I'll probably get one with the turtle done as well, I see Roy Kueppers offers both options. The set I'm getting comes with a shaved dolphin but no regular inserts, so I think I'm looking to add a...

Coin gimmicks make me so frustrated.

I see Roy Kueppers will be at the Portland Magic Jam this year for any of you on the west coast who wish to browse. I don't think I'll make it this year, but it is a fun event. They have Max Maven and Shawn Farquhar this year too.

    Math Magic!!

You will indeed be able to keep up with the math without recalling all of your lost Calculus knowledge. But as always, take the advice from the poster above me. Pick it up if you like math almost as much as you like magic, like me (Persi Diaconis is my hero). Otherwise keep it on your list...

Coin gimmicks make me so frustrated.

Oh I do have something of his, a Chinese coin! It's a nice coin but the coloring was incomplete. He loses a couple points for QC.

Coin gimmicks make me so frustrated.

I just bought a Lassen dolphin-turtle-tortoise hybrid named Morgan. I'll let you know what I think when she arrives. It is months worth of my self imposed magic budget and I wouldn't begin to know how to explain it if I was married. It will be a while before I use it in an uncarpeted room. I...

Coin gimmicks make me so frustrated.

You can check out Roy Kueppers as well. This is a suggestion, not a recommendation as I do not own any of his products. But it is another option to consider.

    Card production

No gimmicks. That trailer was the only one I could think of right now that looked good, but I'm sure there are others.

Yes, I've seen this type of thing on a number of trailers. VCM by Eric Chien among others.

    Sealed Decks

Well that's certainly how I do my vinyl records collection. One to listen to, one for a backup. Though I do go for the emergency reserve spare backup copy on occasion too, but that's just me! Do whatever feels right for you, but after you have one sealed and one to open and admire get some to...

    Effects where you make gimmicks

I don't have many make your own gimmick tricks but I do like Robert Ramierz's McDonald's Aces. In one of Shin Lim's lectures he spends a fair amount of time explaining how he makes some of his gimmicks: At the Table Live Lecture - Shin Lim 8/20/2014

    Coin levitation help

And check with your magic dealer for coins 'more suited' to this endeavor. I know Vanishing Inc carries some Tango items for this because I have one on my wish list. As soon as I figure out why, I'll pick it up.

Entertaining kids for hours with magic

I lean toward Sponge balls multiplying in their hands. Plucking a coin out of the kid from somewhere has many followers too. I never got the idea of pulling it from their ear because I think it's better when they can watch the production, but that's just me. So just a couple of simple...

    Favorite magic dealers?

Penguin for lectures, books and USPCC cards. They do have a good selection with good prices and easy returns. I've been leaning more toward Vanishing Inc lately as they are a little more focused. Mostly books and card videos. I already have a whole bunch of T11 stuff, mostly card videos and...

Several questions: Colour change, card teleportation, card reveal, Cups and Balls

    1. Bertram and Tony Chang's look best to me. Slydini is the basis for a number of other things and is therefore a good one to learn.
