    Magic... Trick?

I like the term 'Illusion' better, because by definition Magic includes more than what we do. We create (or try to) illusions, tricking the senses and the mind for the purpose of entertainment. But who cares how it`s called. Even some of the best magicians in the world refer to their work as...

    You Can't Counterfeit Hollingworth

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tGPKsInXpYk I think Hollingworth`s 'The Reformation' was the inspiration for this TnR, as its title implies. The card can be signed in Reformation. I agree that the third piece is nuts and looks cleaner than Hollingworth`s version.

    Ellusionist or Theory11?

He`s just performing the thread-version of "Back in Time". And I must admit that I`ve been fooled!

    Brad Christian

Yes, I´ve seen some of his DVDs. I owned his Ambitious Card DVD (I think it was called Crash Course 2) and Crash Course 1 and have seen Ninja 1 and 2 . As a prove, i can post you the code of the CC1 forum (CC2 hasn`t had the access code on the DVD) ;). I don`t always agree with him and I´m...

Depends on the moderator. I highly respect RealityOne, and I doubt someone like him would ever ban you for no serious reason. I think he`s mature enough to handle such situations. The mods are just people and they´re different. If someone doesn`t like you, the cards are stacked against you.

    Brad Christian

http://www.antinomymagic.com/swiss.htm Keep in mind, that`s not my opinion. In fact, I don`t know Brad Christian personally, but have watched some of his DVDs...all I can say I´m not a fan at all (that doesn`t mean I hate him, I actually like his surname xD ). BTW, please, never ever compare...

    Juan Tamariz- Mnemonica Stack

No, that`s not true in my opinion. Any stack that looks like a genuine shuffled deck is as easy/hard to learn than any other. You just need to learn the stack to such an extent that you can name a card by its number and vice versa instantely without thinking about it (Sequential learning alone...

    Magical Music

Mixed. I found more with Google, but only posted the songs I know and like. I still have some old records (vinyl and audio cassettes) of Black Sabbath, Uriah Heep, Steppenwolf, Queen, Fleetwood Mac, Deep Purple and many other old bands. My CD Collection contains all of the listed songs (or...

    Getting into gambling techniques

I agree. Jason England is the way to go if you like DVDs or video. For well constructed and entertaining gambling routines, Darwin Ortiz is your man.

    pre shuffled cards

Must have missed that. I own the German edition ('Sinfonie in Mnemo-Dur'), which is a bit different, especially in the spelling tricks section and it has a skat section (which is by far the most popular card game here) by Pit Hartling. But even if you could start in Fournier order (which I...

    pre shuffled cards

I know. It`s one of my favorite books. But to be honest, you can`t get that easily into Mnemonica stack without some rearranging from a standard american(bicycle) deck order, but it`s possible right out of the box with decks which come in Fournier/European deck order (such as the Phoenix deck)...

Why should you read books instead of learning from DVDs?

Use both. There`s one thing that no book in the world can show you...that things are feasible. Feasability gives you confidence. Later on it isn`t important anymore because you know what you`re capable of. I prefer books, but that doesn`t mean I´m restricting myself to one medium. Why should you ?

    pre shuffled cards

As Beans said, they come in Mnemonica stack order. Use it to your advantage when opening a fresh deck in front of spectators. If you want to learn more about the stack, check out "Mnemonica" by Juan Tamariz. It`s a great book.

    Logic and Magic?

I totally agree with MarkEfferent. No, I just think there needs to be a logic or things (not just magic) get confusing. And confusion is not magic, as Mr. Dai Vernon once said. It takes away from the effect. There needs to be a logic to appreciate what has happened. Logic shouldn`t be used...

Help with Choosing a Good Control to Learn

I think LC works better for magicians than laymen. Don´t know, but laymen seem to pay more attention to the 'discrepancy' of the control than magicians.
