    Help, Missing Foundations

Do you want indepth background knowledge of the history of magic and magicians? Then I would suggest reading some of the biographies out there. For example http://www.vanishingincmagic.com/magic/magic-history/Dai-Vernon-A-Biography/ For his magic...

    DVDs and Books

I only have a couple of DVDs, 90% of my material are books, but the ones I own are great for the performances alone. Seeing Tommy Wonder, Bill Malone, Juan Tamariz or Darwin Ortiz perform is a joy and I think you can learn one or two things from DVDs. I`m not talking about mere technical...

    The Best T&R?

I followed the thread @Magic Cafe and David answered (what about the multiple cuts in the video): I`m waiting for reviews. I don`t expect wonders or anything groundbreaking new, but i have some of David`s material and it`s pretty solid. In fact, his latest DVD is full of great and intelligent...

People are addicted to cards now?

I never understood the fascination with props. It`s fine to have nice looking props, but in the end, they`re just tools. There`s a well-known quote that`s often used in other art-forms as well "It`s not the tool, it`s the artist!"

strike bottoms or the release method?

Learn the bottom deal in the order Jason England mentioned (Erdnase grip, first modificated Erdnase grip, Geene Maze Grip, Mechanics Grip). He also says in the last section (bottom deal from mechanic`s grip, I assume you`re not referring to the push-out method in erdnase grip, but the loosening...

I agree with you. This book is excellent and I like his deep thinking. Couldn`t take it down. Gets my 'magic book of the year' vote.

    What Is Useful card magic?

Useful or not, I don`t like manipulation acts. For me, magic is more interesting when spectators are directly involved in a way or another. Manipulators and flourishers usually bore me to death.

Which Sankey products are worth purchasing?

Vanishing inc. will release a series of books covering all the stuff Jaynkey has ever published. A 'Complete Sankey'. IMO better value for the money than purchasing hundreds of one trick DVDs.

Amazing Effects, but mostly Overlooked by Magicians

Really ? I actually think it (and many variations/modifications) is very popular.

    Berglas effect

AFAIK the book is your only chance and it was never published before. Be warned: Quote from John Carey: If you`re looking for a straightforward, easy and fast method for the Holy Grail, you will be dissapointed. Don`t buy the book just for the method, buy it if you want a look inside the mind...

    America's Got Talent WHAATTT?!?

It is what I call the freak bonus. It may be interesting and amusing because he`s one of these dazzling personalities, but, and that is what matters, he wouldn`t make it in the long run. What Craig Browning says, they want to see him fail. Not laughing with him, but at him. Most of the time...

    The Ascanio Spread

Card College 3 has a good description of the spread. No surprise since Ascanio was Giobbis mentor.

    cap in beer bottle?

I don`t know any of the others, but what I like about Prohibition is that it doesn`t just explain the trick, it handles almost all problems that could occur.

    The Ascanio Spread

But a good one. No seriously. Sometimes (not in this case) not the originator is credited by the name of the sleight, but the one who made it popular.
