    Foundations by Jason England

Yes. The seperate downloads by Jason England are the same as the videos in Foundations 1 and 2. They are cheaper if you buy Foundations. The money is good invested. If you can, go for Foundations 1 and 2.

    Australian Coin Magic

I can`t speak for anyone else, but I have rather large hands and I feel much more comfortable working with bigger coins. The problem is, the biggest Euro coin is just ca. 25mm diameter (2€), even less than a half-dollar (ca. 30mm).

    Best Magic Release of 2011

My favorite release this year was Woody Aragons "A book in English". Normally when I buy a book or a DVD it`s a good buy if I use one item after reading/watching. But this book is FULL of effects and sleights I use or will use. Utopia comes close next to it.

    "Limited" trend is shocking

Good advice. I totally agree. I also like the following quote. "Book" can be replaced with nearly any magic product. Limited editions are marketing strategies. I wonder how long does it take before the first online-book-dealer`s e-book will be advertised as "limited edition" or "out of...

    Mathemagic

Great! But there is someone who impressed me even more. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gert_Mittring His actual record is the 98789.root of a one million digit number. I`ve seen it live on TV not long ago. Impressed is the right word. I appreciate their skill, but it`s not magic to me. Real...

    I don't want but I want...

It is, and I normally don`t buy something right after the release. I will first read some reviews and wait till the hype sinks in. The Elmsley books are on my "Wanted" list for some years now but I will wait for a reprint. Before I buy something on impulse, I read Darwin Ortiz article "The...

    I don't want but I want...

I want the 'Collected Works of Alex Elmsley', but I can`t because it`s out of print and I don`t want to pay 150$ up to 400$ or more for a used copy. What should I do ?

Jason England VS. Lennart Green ?

That`s the problem with magicians today. They think it is a competition. Well of course, as long as these casting show competitions are reflections of our time, who can blame them ? It`s as much a competition as van Gogh vs Picasso or Michael Jackson vs Louis Armstrong. Two different styles...

Hofzinser Card Q&A By Jeremy Hanrahan

The best source for everything regarding Hofzinser is Magic Christian from Vienna, probably the world-leading Hofzinser expert. His book, "Non Plus Ultra 2, die Kartenkunst des Johann Nepomuk Hofzinser" is the most complete work of his card magic to date AFAIK. Unfortunately only available in...

    Double Lift

This is what I mean. People often think "natural" means what most people would do. In a non-magic context this would be often true for things every human beeing does regulary like walking, running, breathing, for something that is given by nature, but card handling is not given by nature. It`s...

    Double Lift

If you want valuable informations about the Double Lift that goes beyond the normal mechanical discussions (Which DL should I use? ), I would point you to Jamy Ian Swiss` book "Devious Standards", which has a fantastic essay and thoughts about the DL, Aaron Fishers video on the double Lift and...

    Double Lift

We are not the average, normal person. Naturalness means what is natural (things you do regulary or daily) FOR YOU, not natural for other people. In contrary, as a more experienced card handler it is unnatural to do it the way the average people would do it, provided that your style is...

    Table Faro

Martin Nash also has something about the Table Faro released. I´m not sure, but I think it can be found "Ever so sleightly" and in one of his videos, "Infinity and Beyond". Oh, and if you can`t find a copy of both, you can always get the e-book "Leftovers" by Michael Sorensen, which also covers...

Can Magic DVD's Stand the Test of Time?

I think the concepts in the well-known magic theory books will probably be as usable in hundred years as today, whereas a 'move' or 'effect' will probably get old. Let`s be honest, DVDs are almost never about magic theory, because a book is the better medium to transport this kind of...

card fictions or drawing room deceptions?

Why not first read all the reviews you can find and then you can decide whether the effects fit your style or not ? I have Card Fictions. It is a very nice book. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lxD0qZXcaqc

    What is This???

I like the variation of Woody Aragon, 'Bored of Shuffling'. It`s in his new book "A book in English" (best book I´ve read since years and has one of the best essays about the principle behind this trick), along with proper crediting (Aronsons shuffleboard, hence the name of the trick)...
